Senior year in a new school, new city, new people. New York, the big apple.

As I walked through the school doors that morning I observed all the people I passed by. It seemed like everyone tried their best to fit in, girls looking immaculate with their perfect hair, make up done, dressed as if they weren't in a friggin' school.

Sighing, I ran my fingers through my slightly curly hair, I've a habit of sleeping in a braid but it makes for quite a cute hairstyle and I don't even have to try. Smoothing my hoodie down my jeans, I made my way towards the lockers, eyes scanning the numbers to find one appointed to me.

As I find my locker my eyes make contact with these beautiful brown ones standing by an opened locker right next to mine. I give the person a polite smile as I approach, opening my locker and checking the schedule I've taped on the inside. I hear somebody clear their throat but I ignore it. I mean, they have a mouth, they can speak. Until I hear the person clear their throat again and I raise my left eyebrow.

Fixing the books that I need for my next period, I double check everything and the person clears their throat again. "Uh, I think you might need to get that checked," I say as I close my locker and finally turn towards the striking eyes, staring at me. He raises an eyebrow and snickers, "sorry, just wanted to say hi-" I politely cut him off, "then just say hi," I say in a welcoming tone with a warm smile playing on my lips. He grins and nods "I'm Milos, by the way, you must be the new girl?"

"Must be," I smile and extend my hand towards him "Y/N, it's nice to meet you." He takes my hand in his and gives it a firm handshake while looking into my eyes, "pleasure is mine, welcome to our high school. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate at all to ask." I nod and hear the bell sound off, letting me know class is about to begin shortly, my eyes darting towards where the sound was coming from briefly before locking back on Milos and letting go of his hand. With a thanks, I turn around and start marching towards my first period of the day, my favorite, English.

Stepping inside the class, my eyes scan the free seats and as they land on one in the back, I approach it before taking a seat. I get settled and look up in time to see Milos walking in as well, the teacher right behind him. Milos gives me a smile before sitting down a couple of desks in front of me.

"Good morning class," the teacher starts and some murmurs of a 'good mornin' are heard in return. "Today we've got a new student with us, Miss Music, if you please, come up here and introduce yourself."

I bite my lip harshly as I process the teacher's words, I can feel my anxiety kicking in already. I friggin' hate these situations, having to speak in front of many people, strangers none the less. With a deep breath and a clench of my jaw, I get up and make my way towards the front of the classroom.

I give a small wave to everyone, "so, hi, my name's Y/N, I'm 18. I'm actually from Slovenia, moved here very recently and uh, as you heard my last name is Music which is ironic cause I really can't sing."

There's a few small chuckles around the room as I finish but a laugh draws my attention to the source and I notice it's Milos. I smile and walk off back to my desk.

"Alright, thank you Miss Music and welcome to New York. So, let's pick up where we left off, class..."
