Chapter 17

Heart shattered, soft skies, breathing mattered, bound lies. To feel but to heal, do we have to be in vain to learn? But, why is this suffering required. Is letting go the only option?

A chaotic thought entered Seulgi's mind. Seeing the joy that Lisa brought to Irene, it left Seulgi out of place. They have been staying at Seulgi's place for a week, but Irene and Seulgi's relationship is only civil. Still, they never had the conversation about the past. They both knew that the uncomfortable feeling is mutual, the atmosphere is heavy whenever they glance at each other but for now, that is all they can do.

I left. Seulgi thought, it would be obtuse to ask for a closure. She only sighed and continued lifting a bucket from the well.

Lisa approached Seulgi when she saw her gathering water from the well "Do you need a hand?"

"If you insist" said Seulgi and gave an extra bucket to Lisa. The two gathered water silently, the breeze hitting their face was refreshing, the home that Seulgi has is a peaceful one. On the woods and far from everyone. Something that Lisa desire when she settle.

"May I ask?" said Lisa

"Of course"

"How did you find a place like this?"

Seulgi was speechless, this house was supposed to be hers and Irene before Irene's mother threatened her. Memories flashed before her eyes from that time when they were having a picnic at their meeting place.

*Flashback*

Irene was lying on Seulgi's lap reading a book she recently bought. "I want to be like this girl" she said outloud while being immersed on the book.

"Oh, tell me the story" said Seulgi then put her pencil and sketchpad aside.

"I relate to her. She is from a prestigious family but never got the freedom she wants. Not until, she decided it was enough and ran away from her family. She worked hard and decided to start a life in the middle of a forest where no one can ever bother her" her eyes twinkled as she talks.

Seulgi smiled and stared at Irene "You want to live on a forest? Are you not scared of the wild animals?"

"Well, I am. But I know you will be there, so I have nothing to fear" she smiled and continued reading her book.

*End of Flashback*

Sometimes it is better to lie. We lie for  convenience and not to hurt people. Lying is not entirely selfish at all.

"It was from my uncle, before he died he gave this to me since he used to live alone"

"Your uncle was surely someone who is not fond of people" Lisa smiled "It is a compliment, people are quite complicated"

"Maybe. Or perhaps he was someone who wanted to run away" said she and continued on her task.

*At the Bae's Mansion*

Sitting at her chair Ms Bae's peace was disturbed when a man entered the breakfast room. Together with her daughter Suzy, she eyed the man and was ready to hear the news he has.

"A good news madam" said the man and gave an envelope to Mrs Bae. "This contains the address that they are staying right now. It seems that someone who helped them escape was one of the acquaintances of Ms Irene Bae"

Mrs Bae opened the envelope and instantly knew who the woman is "This filthy dirt--- Arghhh!" she stood up and held the bread knife tight on her right hand. "We must flee right now! No time to waste or else they might escape again" she walked fast and went out of the room.

"Mother!" Suzy stood up but Mrs Bae already left with her men.
Surprised was written on her face. She has no time to send a letter to Seulgi and give it to Mr. Yoon.

She ran outside and asked a servant for a carriage.

"To where Madam?"

"To the Kim's please, and make haste!"

The furious soul of Mrs Bae was well hidden by her calm demeanour. She is a woman that embodies elegance, that is what she tells herself, and the behaviour that she did a while ago was quite the opposite. She took a deep breath and reminded herself not to let anyone control her emotions once again.

"Be careful not to hurt my daughter later, however, if she forces to go against my order do what you must" said she to the man he orders around.

The man nodded.

"Now, I wonder how did Seulgi knew about Irene's situation. It is possible that they never cut connections. But I highly doubt it, I saw how Irene broke and loathed that filthy woman"

"We can detain and question her madam if that is your wish"

"No need, I would not dare go near her. Execute her right away, I need no headaches anymore"

The man nodded again.

Suzy ran to the Kim's front porch once her carriage arrived. She was greeted by the servants and ushered to the Kim's garden where the Park's were also surprised by Suzy's arrival.

"Suzy, it has been long. How are you?" said Jennie when Suzy was occupied catching her breath from running.

"My..... Sister......." said Suzy still catching her breath from running.

"Yes?..... What is it?" Jennie stood and look concerned when Suzy mentioned Irene.

"I.... Beg.. Of.... You.."

"I will apologise for my behavior later, pray tell Suzy!"

"No need to raise your voice, let her breathe first Jennie" Jisoo stood gave Suzy a drink from the table.

Suzy declined the drink "My mother... Found their location.. And she is on her way now and we must hurry.. I will tell you more on our way... But I need your help"

Jisoo ordered one of the servants to grab their men, meanwhile the Park's also ordered their men to follow them.

"We must move now" said Jisoo, and the Kim's and Park's entered Suzy's carriage

Suzy gave the address to the coachman and ordered him to make haste.

The five of them are now sitting silently when Rosé broke the silence.

"How did you know where they were?"
