As Seokjin walks through the halls of his 'new' academy, he tries to memorize the maze the teacher guiding him lays out with her feet. His homeroom teacher is Mrs. Lee, a tall skinny woman who wears long black dress pants and a white satin blouse. When he arrived she was in the front office waiting for him, Seokjin was sad his mom couldn't follow along. The halls are dim, the lowlights with dark wooden walls and wine carpets. Everything looks the same, everything looks frightening."Here we are, classroom S-2," Mrs. Lee stands by the door ready to open it, "You're test scores were high enough to put you back into your graduating class."
Before Seokjin could go back to school he had to take a number of tests to place him in the right class. Thankfully as he recovered his father would take the time to read, teach and give Seokjin homework. It's not the same as a classroom education, but it was good enough for him to catch up.
Mrs. Lee opens the door, Seokjin's classmates are by the whiteboard at the front of the class, looking at the notes from the day before; upon the opening of the door, everyone is shocked to see him. They disperse seeing Mrs. Lee behind him, but still keep their curious eyes on Seokjin, whom they thought was dead after seeing photos of his car. Anyone would think the worst after seeing a car so damaged beyond repair.
Despite a full class room of curious boys, Seokjin finds one pair of eyes not curious but vicious. His hands clenched into white fists on the light wooden desk, his expression almost detached from the atmosphere but the exception of his eyes.
"Settle down lets get some order in here, everyone to their seats while I reintroduce Seokjin to the class,"
As everyone seems to calm down, Seokjin can't help but think he recognizes the owner of those eyes. "Alright," The teacher gestures for Seokjin to stand before the class, "Seokjin this will be your homeroom, your seat will be right here in the front," She points to an empty seat in the front row to the right.
"Does anyone want to guide Seokjin for the rest of the day?" Mrs. Lee asks, looking for a hand. The whole class is silent, no one even pretends to want to, now all eyes are turned away from him. Seokjin feels his heart drop, 'I was right,' he says to himself, 'They have to know something about me.'
All his anxiety and fears seem to be coming into light, he starts to feel like everyone is against him. 'Maybe I was supposed to die,'
Mrs. Lee lets out a curt tsk and points to a student, "Fine, Namjoon, please take care of Seokjin for the rest of the day," Seokjin looks to the vicious eyes who now have a name, and Seokjin remembers him from the year book.
Namjoon clears his throat before speaking so as not to come off as harsh in front of the teacher. "Yes ma'am," Although his voice is smooth and cooperative, his eyes again tell another story to Seokjin.
With all introduction and formality over with, Seokjin quickly makes his way to his seat. Sitting down he can see Namjoon in his peripheral vision, in the seat just diagonal from him to the left. Seokjin slightly turns his head, those eyes, so sharp and focused on him.
Seokjin doesn't understand why this person he doesn't know...no, but this person knows him. 'Is he the one?' Seokjin doesn't want to believe that someone in his class would want him dead. But that look, that aura around Namjoon towards him, Seokjin has never felt hostility like it.
