"Stop all that damn pouting Liyah, you either going to stay in the car or you not" Trey said looking at my from the side of his eye. We had just arrived to his trap house so he could drop off some money but he knew how I felt about all this drug stuff.

I crossed my arms and looked at him, sure I didn't tell him that the same shit he was doing was what killed my dad but I wished he would just listen to me.

Trey looked around and saw some sketchy looking people walking along the side walks and sighed "Aaliyah I'm not asking anymore, get out the car and come on" he said and got out the car so that he could open my door.

I mumbled under my breath but he ignored me and just held my hand and kissed the top of my head before dragging me into the shabby looking house. I stepped a bit closer to him as we started to come across people, all of whom politely said hello to me.

"Go sit down and I'll be back in a second" Trey said a gestured to a couch that was in a room full of people and I looked up at him like he was stupid.

"Aint nobody here going to hurt you now go sit or stand here like a dummy" he said before walking down the long hall.

I wondered why I was putting myself through this for a relationship that obviously wouldn't last after the summer was over.

I slowly crossed the room and smoothed down my skirt before having a seat on the dingy looking couch, I waved hello and tried to bury myself in my phone.

Once again I was seriously over dressed for the occasion and it felt like everyone was staring at me "So you rolling out on this drop with us" a girl asked from across the room and it took a second for me to realize that she was talking to me.

"Oh umm no" I stuttered a bit while trying to find the words to say, luckily Don'Tae walked in and pulled me away from the conversation.

"Fuck you doing round here Liyah" he asked and pulled me into a hug, I rolled my eyes.

"Please go ask Trey because I'm trying to figure it out myself" I complained, Tae was the only person in my family who knew about my relationship because I really didn't want my mom to find out.

The sound of loud gunshots rang out and I felt my heart drop when some windows near us shattered. Tae pulled me down to the floor and covered my body with his. "Your good Liyah just stay calm" he whispered and dragged me from the open hallway.
