Daesun stared at her own reflection. Her eyebrows knitted together while her lips curved into a frown.
The moment she and jay laid eyes on each other again after 8 years, she didn't hesitate to run. Run away from him, she won't take any regrets on that.
Because he didn't kept his promise. He didn't stayed in touch with them, after all he said. Replaying what he said back then, makes her cringe.
But why was she sad? She doesn't know. Clueless.
"Ms Joo" Her secretary, Ms Go, opens the door of her office and called out her name. Daesun got startled and nearly jumped by that.
"Didn't mean to scare you, unnie" She apologizes, though Ms Go is her secretary and daesun is more older, they rather talk comfortably but professionally.
"It's fine" Daesun replies, indicating her to sit as she too sits behind her desk. "Any news to deliver?"
"Guess what's next week's event is?" Ms Go says excitingly, almost squealing out her happiness.
"Free coffee day?" Daesun gasps, she loves coffee!
"Unnie... That's not it.." The one infront of her says carefully, which makes daesun pout. Her high hopes got her.
"It's the 100th monthsary of the winter package!"
Instead of being excited and all, daesun's frown became a confused one. Since when do they celebrate those? "Why all of a sudden? Don't we just discard such events?"
"Yeah but, winter package really has a significant role to the company. It brought 100 billion won to our income. So admins have been thinking if we could..." Ms Go explains further, in a bit of a cheeky tone.
"Yujin...." The CEO face palms herself as she gave puppy eyes. Oh no, not that face.
Daesun sighs, she hated events when she has already too much in her schedule. She thought everything through and nodded in agreement. "I won't take any part on agendas though!" She spats to be clear.
Yujin clasps her hands in success. "I'll let them know! We'll hand out invitations as soon as possible"
"Wait!"
".... Who exactly are you inviting?"
"You and Mr Sim's workers. And the old crew" Ms Go replies innocently that made daesun relief and give a thumbs up to let her go.
"I won't take any chances with you again, Park Jay..." She mumbles, resting her head to the table. And played with the beads on to the bracelet she wears.
She wasn't heartbroken as an admirer, rather as a friend who thought he'd comeback early. Like he said, but it really seem he wanted to stay away from them.
And out all of years they never seen each other, why now all of a sudden?
"Why do i even bother wearing this?" She questions, jolting and straight up removed it just to be hidden on her drawer.
Her phone rings then, she looked at the I.D. caller saw her boyfriend's name written on it. Her face brighten up as she answers it. "Jakey! My man!"
"Daesun my girl! I'm heading to your building. Are you there?"
"Mhm. Have anything with you as a ticket to get in?" Daesun stood up from her seat, walking to the big glass wall with a big view of Seoul.
".... Will coffee work?"
She looks at the big billboard before replying, "Yep, meet you-" her words stopped and looked back at the big board.
It has Jay's face, announcing that he has land back at seoul. And their new company building is built. Her heart ached, this was probably what jake saw earlier.
"Everything alright there?" Jake interrupts from the other line.
Daesun snaps out of her head and says, "Yup, meet you there" she says and hang up.
She quickly pull the black curtains down, making the office a bit dim. Unsure, her heart was racing like a marathon.

A week has passed. The celebration starts, the venue decorated with interior design that's expensive than our ass.
And guess what? Jay's here, with other of his workers. Unbelievable.
Everything was going well, Daesun avoided literally everyone. Best decision, best action.
She was with jake most of the time, listening to him brag about his girlfriend to his other friends and known business partners. She just feel lucky to have someone as a best friend and a boyfriend. He makes the best out of it.
"Hey, I'm going to the restroom very quick" Daesun whispers to Jake's ear. Doing the old restroom trick to escape conversations, ah yes.
A few moments later, she re-energized herself a bit and saw the crowd getting bigger and tight. She hitched her breath, "What the fuck, this won't be easy" she says underneath her breathing.
She carefully passes multiple people and conversations, thankfully. She saw jake on the far edge, with his drink. Her lips lifts up as a smile and scurried to meet him.
What she didn't focused on, a waiter at the same time passed by, intersecting paths and bumped into one another as she trip over something while wearing heels.
Before she could hit the ground with several other people she accidentally pushed, a hand happened to caught her in time. Peeking onto a big crowd that barely sees his face.
When i meant he, he was wearing a suit. So the first impression was a boy.
"I'm sorry for that. And t-thank you" She fixes her balance, apologizing one by one to the people that were involved. She thanks the man unconsciously like she would normally do.
By the time the crowd of people expands, she completely saw his face. Which made her smile fade away quickly.
A man in a black suit that fits him so well. Hair slicked back that exposes his forehead. Was the same person she would like to avoid everyday.
"Daesun..."
