Charlotte's POV

Cameron grabs my hand again, before dragging me through the crowd of people until we get to the back corner of the living room where its less crowded. I still had a clear visual on Jasmine, while also not being squished and bumped into by sweaty bodies.

I look down at the orange liquid in my cup, and cautiously bring it up to my lips. "Its just fanta, dont worry" He chuckles, and knowing that I take a sip of the drink.

"Thanks. As stupid as it may sound, I never realised there would be non alcohol drinks here" I chuckle, and he smiles. "Well yeah, people mix drinks" Cameron tells me and I grimace.

"Wouldn't that taste horrible?" I mumble, and he chuckles. "Not if you do it right" Cameron shrugs.

"Here try some. Cranberry juice with vodka" Cameron tells me as he holds out his cups. I take it and stare at the liquid weirdly.

"Just one sip" I tell him, and he nods while smiling. I bring the cup to my lips before taking a small sip, and Im surprised when it doesn't taste half bad.

"See? Not that bad right?" Cameron chuckles while I hand him his cup back. "Its nice" I nod, and he smiles. "The next time you're not driving I'll make you some" He tells me and I chuckle.

"As good as that sounds, I'm unfortunately always driving" I tell him as I look in the living room to make sure she's okay. "Why?" He asks, and I turn back to him to see him looking at me confused.  "I've been on Jas duty since I was fifteen. I have to drive us home" I explain, and he scowls.

"So the only reason she makes you come here is to drive her home?" Cameron asks, and I shrug. "Pretty much yeah" I nod as I take another sip of my fanta.

"And you're okay with that?" Cameron asks, and only then do I notice he looks rather upset. "She's my friend. Of course I'm going to look out for her" I tell him.

"And whens the last time you got drunk at one of these parties, knowing Jas would stay sober and watch over you, and be there to drive you home?" Cameron asks, and I go quiet.

"Exactly. Friendship is supposed to go both ways" Cameron tells me, and I scoff. "You dont know anything. You've been here a week." I mutter.

"A week and I've already noticed how much of a bitch she is to you" Cameron says and I scowl. "Dont say that about her" I snap and he sighs.

"I'm sorry but its true. Do you realise proper friends wouldn't force you to come here? They wouldn't tell someone to 'not waste their time talking to you'. They wouldn't force you to do cheerleading" Cameron mutters.

"I already told you, I like cheerleading" I say, and he looks me in the eye. "Do you really though? If she told you she didnt care if you did it or not, would you still do it?" Cameron asks me, and I look down at my cup.

"If I didnt I'd be lazy" I mumble, and he scoffs. "Did she tell you that?". I stay quiet.

"Look I'm not trying to cause any arguments. But you deserve to have a choice in what you do and dont do. And not be put down all the time. You deserve respect Charlotte" He tells me.

"Why do you care?" I mumble. "Because I'd like to think we're friends. And I care about my friends" Cameron say.

"You've only known me for a week" I tell him, and he shrugs. "And I can already tell you're a good person" Cameron says, causing me to slightly blush. I take a sip of my fanta, before looking up and see him already look at me.

"Can we change the subject?" I ask, and he nods. "Of course. Im sorry if I overstepped" Cameron tells me.

"How long have you and Noah been friends?" I ask him instead. "Years. I used to live here when I was younger and we were best friends. When I was ten I moved to New Orleans, but we stayed friends thanks to technology. When I moved back, was like I was never gone" Cameron tells me, and I smile.
