As the three friends would walk in, they looked around. The party was as they expected, flashing lights, music blasting, and crowds of people.
The three of them would head to the kitchen, grabbing a cup and pouring whatever drink they were craving in that moment. Rosemary pouring in some tequila and orange juice in hers, Lisa pouring fruit punch and vodka in hers, while Clarissa would just pour straight up vodka in hers.
"I will see you guys soon, tootles!" Clarissa says taking a gulp out of her cup, waving and heading off somewhere.
Rosemary would take some sips out of her cup heading to the dance floor with Lisa like they normally would do. Lisa would take gulps of her drinks dancing with Rosemary, either on her or just next to her. Rosemary didn't have a problem with it has she danced along, her hands gliding on Lisa's body, the both of them doing the same to each other.
It was their tactic luring in boys for Lisa, as usual it would work. Lisa moving on from Rosemary making her way to the blonde boy, who would be staring them down in the moment. Rosemary watching Lisa walk off and smiling as it would work, before she would dance by herself. Drink in one hand, her enjoying the song "Mascara" by deftones blasting in the background. She was occupied by the music taking over her, as she would take sips and continue to dance. Her other hand gliding up and down her body, her eyes closed in the moment not carrying if there are other people around her.
Rosemary opens her eyes once, seeing if her friends were still around. But instead she finds a boy, who she hasn't seen before, a boy who she finds interesting by the way he looks, the way he stands, and the way his eyes would watch her.
He was standing towards the lights that would be flashing, in the light she could see how dark his hair was. It was the darkest hair she has ever seen before in this town, it was pure black. His eyes glistening every time he'd look at her, it was hypnotizing. Maybe it was just the flashing light reflecting off his hazel eyes, the green overpowering it but not too much. He wasn't far, she catches onto some details but not much. His skin would be a light tan color. His outfit would be common, jeans, with a skin tight shirt.
Out of curiosity, she wanted to know what else she could see on him. See if the skin tight shirt would show off what type of body he had up close. If his skin was as soft as it looks, if his hair would be damaged because of the dye in his hair, or it was soft because his hair color was real.
Rosemary wouldn't take her eyes off of him as she moved past some people before ending up in front of him, just standing not saying a word.
"I was just about to make my way to you." He'd say in Rosemary's ear, speaking loud enough she could hear him.
Rosemary would have chills sent down her body, his voice was deep but soft. The voice that she would hear about, that girls would dream of. Before standing there anymore like a weirdo she'd finally say something.
"I haven't seen you around before." She'd say looking up at him.
The boy would lean in "if you'd like to talk then let's go somewhere quiet, I can't hear ya." He'd laugh, causing a curious Rosemary to smile and nod.
He'd hold out his hand looking at her and waiting for her to take it, and she did. They would both head outside in the back. Walking towards the lake that wasn't to far but also far enough to where they'd be able to hear each other.
"Now you were saying?" He'd ask with a smile.
"I haven't seen you around before, did you just move here?" She'd ask.
"Ah yes, I moved here exactly two days ago. All the way from Chicago" he would respond to her
"Im Athan." He would add
"It's nice to meet you Athan, I'm Rosemary." She'd say smiling, holding out her hand for him to shake it.
"It's so lovely to meet you too Rosemary." He'd take her hand before shaking it gently and adding a gentle kiss on the back of her hand. Making a slightly drunk Rosemary shy.
She'd slowly take her hand away before asking "Chicago huh? What made you move from there to here?"
"Well, I have a cousin that lives here. My parents aren't really in the picture at the moment so." He would reply, skipping a rock in the lake.
"Oh, I see. What's your cousins name? I might know them." Rosemary would say skipping a rock as well.
"You won't know them they're beyond our age limit."
"Oh alright, so how old are you?" Rosemary would ask hoping he's around her age.
"I'm 17, you?" He would look at her hands in his pocket now.
"I'm 17 also!" She would look at him now too, they both would smile before.
"I don't mean to be weird, but there's a reason we met each other. I've found myself interested in you." Athan would say looking in Rosemarys eyes as the back porch light and the moon being the only light for them.
"I've found myself interested in you also, there's something just different about you." She would say looking up at him and into his eyes.
They would both have their eyes lock into each other, trying to dig up why they both find one another interesting, why they both were lured into talking to one another. Why they both didn't shy from the fact on saying why they wanted to talk to each other.
