Dearest Readers,
The ton is abuzz with a new marriage season, and after the scandal of the last, it seems the Bridgerton's are too. Last season, when the young Viscount Bridgerton ditched his fiancée at a wedding that the queen had organised herself and then went off to later marry his betrothed's own sister, Miss Kate Sharma, the family had been disgraced.
It has been a year since, and although you may have forgotten this scandal, this author has not. Violet Bridgerton has much on her hands if she wants her family to remain in the good graces of the ton. Perhaps it is the perfect time for the second Bridgerton son to settle down and wed, after all, he has enjoyed the company of most of the young women in the city of London. It shouldn't be too hard for such a lovely gentleman like him to find his match...
On the quieter side of London, is the Marshall estate and family. Born of new money and new title, they have not yet had a single child out of five marry. Only three are of age, but it is common that eldest sons do not marry early. However, it is not common for a lady of new nobility and new wealth to be on her third marriage season. A Miss Juliana Marshall seems to have trouble finding and keeping suitors. If Miss Marshall isn't careful, people may seem to get the idea that she'll never marry. How improper that would be...
If this season is any more dramatic and interesting than the last, then this author surely will have their work cut out for them.
Yours Truly,
Lady Whistledown
