Chapter Seven

Fae's Pov
Humans still celebrate their holidays, how oddly strange yet festive. I was awkward for the most part standing near the many windows of the large house watching Rensemee opening her gifts with happiness, Seth and Leah eating I had assumed that their mom Sue had started dating Charlie. My palms rubbed all over my arms in a deep rhythm spinning around to face Edward when I felt him behind me placing his hand on my arm a little to spin me around.

"Fae, hey I need you to try and calm down okay? We have today then tonight we prepare but you gotta stop pacing its making me nervous." A soft laugh escaped from me, taking in a fake gulp of air I spoke to him gently tilting my head to one side.

"I know I apologize, it's just with a gift like mine even if it's days away I can feel the danger like a second eye looking over me." I shook my head a couple times in dismissal giving Edward's hands a gently slap, when he tried to cup at my face causing us both to stare at one another loose chuckles heard one by one. I then felt someone roughly tugging on pants quickly causing me to spin around again fast.

"Fae look Jake made me this!" I smiled down at her with a soft giggle. Tucking the strands of my hair away from my face even with her bouncing so much on her toes and feet I was able to catch sight of the weaved bracelet in her grip.

"Did he now? It's so beautiful." I beamed at her making her bounce in place faster as she squealed out hair moving in place, Edward had tapped at my shoulders again once again gathering my attention.

"A little something." He mumbled gently locking the sliver necklace around my neck, pulling all my curls so they weren't resting on it. I flicked my eyes down to study it, smiling gently looking back up at Edward, our eyes still locking with one another.

"It's beautiful Edward thank you." I dropped my hands from over the design, tossing my arms around him to hug him extremely tightly. He grunted out in response mumbling out his answer returning the hug swaying me lightly in his hold a faint smile appeared on his lips.

"You're so welcome. I'm happy you like it."

Night had fallen upon everyone at the camp sight. Everyone either fearful of just uneased by what was yet to come. I took a peek around the large fire were Edward was laying inside with Renesmee giving her something. Her round eyes studying everything in her view. Such a sweet little girl, showed me so much in so little time. I rubbed my arms through my leather jacket giving my attention to Carlisle when he neared me.

"Fae, I wanna thank you for all you've done for my family and all. I appreciate it." A smile was sent his way, giving his arm a playful push.

"What are old friends for? Thank you for reaching out to me Carlisle I needed to get out of that castle I had been out of it for centuries. I've oddly had fun and I think." I blinked looking back towards the tent with interest.

"I might have found what I was missing all these years my mate." A soft smile grew on my face still watching Edward closely hugging Renesmee tightly. Carlisle looked between the scene a loose chuckle leaving him quietly patting at my shoulders.

"I could have seen that from a mile away. I'm happy for your both. Now act on it." He chuckled urging me over to the tent, I looked back over at him like he was crazy but my footsteps were already heard by the entrance of the tent, they both looked up to gaze at me. I smiled gently ducking my head under slowly sitting down across from them.

"You should try and get some sleep Renesmee." She smiled at me shy like her hand holding a locket close with a backpack settled on her as well.

"I will soon, dad was just giving me this gift. It has him and mommy in it." I gently peered around her to gaze at it smiling at it softly.

"It is indeed beautiful young one. Your mother would be so happy to see how you've grown." I whispered to her seeing her smiling at me sadly, curling up into her side slowly holding it closer. Edward looked into my eyes before standing up for a moment after kissing her temple moving out the tent with me grabbing both my hands on his own for a moment.

"So I wasn't imagining that you were my mate? All those signs were there we were just being hard to get." I chuckled glancing down at the snow in amusement before looking back up.

"More like I've been alive for this long and I never knew what the signs of a mate were until finally getting out of that castle and almost getting killed by you. By actually learning things and taking care of your daughter thank you Edward." He gave me a confused glance for his thumbs rubbing over my hands a couple times.

"Thank you for what Fae?" He muttered in a gentle tone.

"Allowing for me to live again." He cracked another grin leaning his head in pressing a soft kiss to my lips to which I returned it still gripping at his hands firmly.
