Chapter Eight

Fae's Pov
The morning of a million thoughts had hit everyone as soon as we arrived at the clearing. Edward seemed oddly unusually calm or maybe it was just his usually composer. Renesmee was more alert than usually, keeping her little hands wrapped around the tightness of my pants standing between me and Edward.

I lightly moved my hands to mess through the mess of her wild brown curls, partly from my side view, Edward glances between us with a small smile across his lips, twisted into a boyish charm.

"Are you sure you are gonna be able to face your family?" It was a slight murmer that I'm sure everyone else could hear, still  everyone was too worried with having their own last minutes chats and whispers.

"Edward you are my mate.. And I care for Renesmee I can do this.. I hope." I found, I had muttered that one part loosely getting a chuckle in response, Edward slide his hand down to interlock with my own. It was like you were your own batch of criminals watching the black and red coats glide across the the sticky cover snow. Is this how other coven's saw us?

We were the big bad guys deciding rules on who broke rules and who got to live. I couldn't even fully look at Aro, Caius and Marcus in the eyes, like it was betrayal on my own family.

Yet the Cullens were my family now too. I dipped my head to the side to stare at Edward who leaned in gently to press a kiss to the side of my head doing everything in his power to reassure me. The distant loud howl was only what was able to bring me out of my head space, gently when Jacob made his presence known with the packs next to me and Edward.

I moved Renesmee fixing her backpack so she was closer to Jacob as needed for the plan if it ever played out. Even as her state was moved. She held onto my unoccupied hand with tightness, I turned my attention to Carlisle when he moved forward speaking.

"Aro let's us discuss things in a civil matter like we use to do things." Carlisle turned back around to look at me, giving me the okay with a head nod. I let Edward's and Renesmee's hand go free for a moment to join Carlisle by his side, looking down for a moment before I looked back up.

"Aro.. You know that you all our my family and I wouldn't have left without any reason. You know my gift and they aren't a threat.. She isn't a threat.. My mate isn't a threat." I finally said it out loud, glancing over my shoulder to look back at Edward seeing him glancing at me with a look of softness and all.

I gave him one back looking back towards Aro, who seemed startled by the new information he then looked between his brothers before back at me.

"You usually trust my judgement so the fact that you aren't listening this one time.. No laws were broken." Caius eyed me back before snapping out over my words.

"We see the child Fae! Don't treat us like fools in your absence." My lips formed a thin straight line glare, before Carlisle was snapping back in my defence.

"She is not an immortal, all these witnesses can a test to that. Even your sister, look at the color in her cheeks, the warmth in her heartbeat." I made my way to stand back near Renesmee, when she had rushed towards my side to hug at me quickly, hiding her head on my coat.

"I will gain all the evidence that I need brother.. One that seems to know the story more Edward, as your child clings to my fellow sister and your new found mate. You are involved are you not." Edward looked in his own train of thought before he was glancing towards me, rubbing at Renesemee's back before he was moving away to stalk towards the crowd in front of us.

I was worried in a state that anything could happen, feeling Jacob had nudged my hip slightly with his nose, giving me that look that I needed to relax.

It was a couple minutes of Aro holding Edward hand in awe, before he was looking over between us both. "I'd like to meet her." If the evidence was needed that what was needed. I looked down at Renesemee with a smile holding her hand before I started walking with her, hearing Jacob growling. Just like the plan, Emmett had shortly joined me walking by my side till we were in front of my other family.

Renesmee looked uneasy before she was holding her hand out for Aro placing it on his cheek when he had bended down. He was left once again in awe. I held at the back of her coat, even more ushering her back towards me when Aro grew a little too exclaiming.

"Magnificent.. Half mortal.. Half immortal carried and birthed by the human Bella while she was still human.  Before she died." I smiled down at Renesmee gentle like, reassuring her that she did good as me and Edward walked back with Emmett hearing Jacob snarling loudly.

"I did good right?" I smiled more at her curious like eyes, I gently stroked at her cheeks a few times.

"You did amazing sweetie."
