She took my hand gently and gave me that same warm smile that makes me feel young, danger free, and unknowing. It's hard to say this, but I could get used to living with Verda.

She nodded at me when I finished my little story, as if she understood everything. We kept walking, no talking at all, other than Verda muttering in a concern, maybe I scared her just a bit. After some time, we stopped at a small shop to rest, my legs were aching, and I could really use a drink OTHER than warm water! We walked inside, Verda told me to look around and buy whatever I please. I nodded, and walked around the shop.

I was reasonable, I got cold water, snacks, and some candy and sodas, (can you really blame me?) as I shopped something odd caught my eye. I looked towards a shadow, there was a dark figure, standing there, staring deeply at me with its cold white eyes. Unlike most heroes I didnt charge yelling "FOR MY FAMILY" or something stupid like that, I simply turned, and walked away

I didn't tell Verda, I mean why would I? She doesn't deserve any more worry after what I told her, but as I walked closer to the cashier I felt cold eyes staring at me from every corner. I stumbled, how embarrassing, and walked quicker. As I walked something, someone grabbed my ankle. The hand was cold and gooey, it started pulling me back, I fell and hit my chin against the floor. I yelped, though it appeared as if no one heard me. I tried to turn, I tried to see what was dragging me, but I couldn't. I kicked and yelled, no one came, no one helped, was I truly all alone? Then I remembered my necklace, I grabbed it tightly, my knuckles going white, I mumbled animal names, any animal, please! Anything would do. I closed my eyes, my body started taking shape, My skin went green, my arms started going covered in scales, my eyesight got better automatically. I shrank and shrank. I was a lizard, the only thing the beast was holding onto was my tail. Quickly my tail popped off, and I scrambled away. The tail thing felt weird, thinking back on it, I get a weird feeling everytime I remember it.

I turned towards the beast to see what it looked like, it was horrific. It had long sharp claws, though they looked gooey, like they'd slip off at any second, how gross!!! It was navy blue, white tears streamed down its face. It sobbed as I pulled away, I was not scared though, just kinda grossed out. I kicked the beast in the face, it wailed and tried to grab my ankles again. It was such a pathetic creature, I kind of felt bad for hurting it. Well I did, until I felt a sharp pain in my ankle, I fell back, my ankle had a huge scar. Blood rushed down my leg, I backed up, the used to be sobbing monster was now laughing, a huge grin on its face. It laughed and laughed, my vision slowly going black. I felt dizzy, I felt a scream, the cashier, someone finally noticed me.

Why does this always happen? My body went numb as Verda ran over, the monster was gone, like it had just disappeared. My eyes rolled back into my head, all I remember was falling into some ladies arms and everything going the same dark red as the liquid dripping down my leg. A woman reached out from the dark red screen, she was beautiful. She had long glowing hair that changed colors, her skin as smooth as silk, a long white dress draped down her body. She reached her hands towards me, she pressed her warm hands against my face and smiled at me. Her eyes shined a bright glowing shade of blue, her smile as bright as the sun. She kissed my forehead, as she brushed my hair out of my face and spoke in a soft but determined voice, "You have got this my dear" she spoke, placing her hand against mine. I felt as if millions of eyes were staring at us, but that didn't matter, the woman looked like a goddess, she made me feel warm and safe, though unlike Verda, she gave me determination, I now felt as if I could do anything. She whispered to me, but I couldn't catch what she said. My eyes closed, I could feel my body again, my leg was in great pain. I woke up in the arms of Verda, she stroked my hair and hummed, we were under a tree outside the shop. The cold and "wet" grass was scraping against my leg, yuck. (yuck counter 6)
