Nova sits in the kitchen, talking to tubbo.

"no, fuck you, it's called a sofaaaa! so-faaa!" Toby says to the girl in front of him.
" i just call it a couch! it's the same thing!"
"but it's not even- what the fuck is- ugh ITS A SOFA" he stuttered
"pft. yeah ok," they reply, hopping down off the counter to pick up her phone that's buzzing.

hey Nove! wanna get ice cream with me? my treat

"who are you texting?" toby asks.
"just some guy i met at Stanley's ice cream shop," Nova replies
"oOoOoOoO do you like him???"
"slow down, turbo. it's been a week." Nova deadpans
"i'm gonna go get ice cream. cya later!"
"bye!"

Nova grabs her shoes and starts the walk to the ice cream shop.
"hello, hello, my favourite costumer!" Rynn smiles from behind the counter. "my shift is over in like five minutes so you can go ahead and order then i'll be right with you at a table"
Nova orders her usual, walking over to a seat by the window, right where she sat with aimsey.

true to his word, five minutes later, Rynn walked over to the table with two ice creams in hand. Nova shoves her phone in her pocket, shifting all her attention on Rynn.
"here you are, m'lady," Rynn says, passing them their ice cream. they smile back at the man, taking a small bite.

they talk for about half an hour, before Rynn changes the topic.
"i'm having a party at my house tonight if you wanna come?" he suggests
"uh yeah sure! could i bring one of my friends too?"
"yeah sure! the more people the better!"

a few minutes later and Rynn had to leave, so nova also started towards home.
"i'll text you the addy in a bit," Rynn says, starting to walk away.
"ok!" they call out, walking back home.

the first thing she does when she gets home is walk to Aimsey's room.
"aims! Rynn invited me to a party tonight and said i could bring a friend. wanna come?"
he stops and thinks for a second before agreeing.

"what time?"
"i'm not sure. he's gonna text me the details in a bit"
"he has your number?"
"yeah, he does. why?"

Aimsey just dismisses it, and the two sit down on his bed to watch tv.

"hey aims! the party is at 10 at 106 NotARealStreetName"
"ok! are you sure that this is safe? we only met him a week or two ago.."
"positive. i've been spending a lot of time with him. i trust him," Nova answers.

before they realize it, it's time for the party. Aimsey is wearing black cargo pants with chains and a graphic t shirt, while he nova has on ripped jeans, black fishnets, and a black crop top.

since the address of the party isn't far, they decide to walk.
they knock on the door, being greeted by none other than Rynn himself.
"hey, you made it! c'mon in!"

walking into the house, the overwhelming smell of alcohol and cigarettes flooded their noses.

Rynn runs off the the kitchen, poring a drink into a red party cup.
"back yard to get away from the smell?"
"yup!"
they walk to the glass door that leads outside, finding a drunk guy passed out on the grass, some girls lying on the lawn chairs talking and some guy asleep on a pool floaty.

"delightful," Nova mutters sarcastically.
"yeah.."

they make there way to empty lawn chairs, sitting down and starting a simple conversation. all was going well before a very drunken Rynn stumbles out the doors and towards Nova.

"hey Nove~ can i talk to you alone forra sec?" he says, slurring his words.
"um.. yeah i guess so," they reply, standing up to follow him to a room inside.

"hey so here's the sitch. you're hot, i'm hot, together we'd make a suuuuper hot couple," he attempts to say.
"Rynn you're drunk. you don't know what you're saying," Nova reminds him.
"nOooooo! i'm not drunkkk," he insists.
"man, your breath smells flammable." they deadpan.
"cmonnnnn we'd be such a hot couple, don't even deny it"

she couldn't lie-Rynn was kinda cute. but they had no interest in dating him right now.
"Rynn, i'm flattered, but i'm not ready for a relationship right now.. plus like i said a few days ago, i'm only here for four months, then it's back to america"

his shoulders fall and his face softens, before stiffening up again. almost like he was sober for a split second.
"ok.. but when you're ready, i'll be waiting"

she throws him a half smile before walking back to aimsey.
"hey, wanna leave? i think my poor lungs are gonna suffocate," Nova asks
"i'm down, but is Rynn gonna be upset? we just got here"
"aims, it's been almost two hours. plus Rynn is so blackout drunk i'd be surprised if he even remembered us showing up," she laughs.

they end up leaving the party 10 minutes later, and informing Rynn on their way out that they were gone.

Nova jumps into the shower to wash out the smell of alcohol, even though they had none.

quickly drying her hair with a towel, she makes her way back to her and tommy's room. walking in, they see tommy and tubbo past put on her bed. she smiles at the two, before deciding just to sleep in tommy's bed instead of waking them.

they slide their feet under the soft duvet cover, pulling it over her shoulders and curling up into the pillow.

they spends good hour or two, twisting and turning, not being able to sleep. the only thing on her mind was what Rynn said. questions bounced around her head- 'did he mean it?' 'do i feel the same?' 'how would it even work with the long distance?'
these simple questions crowd get brain, taunting her. their eyes are heavy and mine feels foggy, but they can't seem to fall asleep.

they yank the pillow around their ears in a desperate attempt to stop the overthinking. she grabs her phone and earbuds, listening to her favourite playlist.

thankfully, this helps drown out the useless overthinking, allowing her to finally sleep, at the pathetic time of 5:46 am.
