Lux had always had a strange love of airports and airplane rides

Lux had always had a strange love of airports and airplane rides. She had never quite understood the fear people had; her sister had one quite fierce, and Lux was often set to comforting her, cradling the young Juniper in her lap and shushing her sweetly, which was quite unfortunate given how much they moved around. Lux had a steady count of how many airplane rides she'd been on, but had lost count around thirty-five.

Still, she got childishly excited every time, even if this time was accompanied by her manager, Grace's nervous assistant Ian, and (what felt like to Lux) an insane amount of security guards for one person. Tour was one of her favourite times because of this; seeing the fans, and seeing the sky.

"Stop bouncing. I'm trying to work." Grace commands, not bothering to even look up from whatever business she was doing. Lux scowled slightly from the window seat, which she had fought for, even though she could have whatever seat she wanted; when you have seven siblings, you get used to that type of thing.

The tour had commenced that September, and they were heading off to their first tour date without a supporting band, causing understandable panic for Grace and her team. Lux had long since decided not to worry about it, which was of some annoyance to Grace... Worst comes to worst, Lux would just play a longer set! She had tried to explain this to Grace, but it fell on deaf ears.

"Maybe we should call Tom.." Grace muttered, rubbing her temples. At this rate, she was convinced her hair would be fully grey before fifty. Cinderella had been considered naturally, but seeing as they were on the last tour, it seemed to go against whatever etiquette Grace seemed to have. For that woman to give up on her rules meant things really were dire, and Lux scrambled to think of something, before widening her eyes, "Oh my God, let's get Axl! Guns N Roses! They've just released an album that isn't doing that great, this will be perfect! Oh, but I can't call them!"

"Yes you can." Connie interrupted; of course she had come! Any chance of travelling spelled out V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N in Connie Beach's eyes. She gestured to the plane around them in a little spin, "That's kind of the beauty of a private jet... they don't leave till you want to."

GRACE RYAN: And that was when I broke my first pair of Jimmy-Choos running through the airport, chasing both Lux and a phone. The way Lux conducted business was of great annoyance to me. That phone call was like; 'Axl, wanna go on tour?... Yes you and your whole band... The dates? Uh.. hold on, Grace will tell you' and then the phone was thrusted into my face, so I could tell the dates, and she brought it back to her mouth, 'Yeah, yeah hotels will be paid for.. Slash's snake? Slash has a snake? Okay, whatever, bring Clyde to Jane's Corner Store and say Lux sent them, she's watching Lennon... Can you guys get here in two hours? I'll send a car to pick you up from my house, my garage code is —---- so you can park your car in there.' And that was it. That was how the Velveteen Rabbit/Appetite For Destruction tour of 1987 started. Pretty anti-climatic, if you ask me.
