The next day, Markus and Clara were hanging out at Jitters as they talked about what happened the previous night. “So, you’re saying you’ve never seen her before,” Clara asked. “That girl who helped us?” She added. Markus shook his head. “Not before a few days ago,” He replied. “All I know is that Guthrie’s some kind of elf witch thing.” He explained.
“Never had the chance to ask her anything,” Markus said. “She just helps out and then leaves before I can get a word in.” He added. Clara nodded. “I tried to talk to her but she just vanished,” She said thinking about the Libra mark. “Are you sure there’s no one in the past with that kind of marking?” She asked. Mark shrugged. “If there is then we’re looking in the wrong places for answers,” He replied. “I’ve tried to find something but I can’t find any species that fits her powers.” He said before his mind, noticeably went somewhere else.
“Oh no,” Clara said, looking at her brother. “What’re you thinking?” She asked. Mark sighed and looked at Clara. “Mom had a journal of stuff she did after crisis before she died,” He explained as worker with the name Diana Turner walked by. “She mentioned some species that she teamed up with but never went into details about them.” He explained. Clara looked at him. “You think Guthrie might be part of that species?” She asked as Diana paused for a second to eavesdrop. “I don’t know, but that’s a place to start.” He said as Diana hurriedly left.
Clara and Markus kept talking until eventually deciding to head home to look for their mother’s journal. As the two left, Diana watched with a look of caution. Just then, one of her coworkers came over. “By the way,” She said before pointing to Diana’s wrist. “Love the tattoo.” She complimented Diana. Diana looked at the mark, it was the Libra constellation. “Thanks,” She said to her coworker. “It’s a birthmark actually.” She said, attempting to put away the conversation. “A birthmark, really?” Her coworker asked in surprise. “That’s actually pretty cool.” She added before looking at a nearby TV screen. “Looks like Guthrie made a comeback again.”
Diana looked on the screw to see the heroine along with the heroes, Lunar Witch and Helios saving the citizens in the area. “Wish we knew more about her.” Her coworker said. Diana looked at her in confusion. “What do you mean?” She asked. Her coworker looked at her and shrugged. “I mean, the Lunar Witch and Helios are Metahuman and alien hybrids,” She explained. “All we can tell from Guthrie is that she looks more like an elf warrior than a human.” She added. Diana shrugged. “Maybe she has a reason for not telling anyone anything.” She said. Her coworker nodded. “Yeah…maybe.” She replied.
Just as her coworker went back to looking at the screen, a pink and light blue glow came from Diana’s’ birthmark. She looked around and then quickly raced outside, into an alleyway. A burst of black magic suddenly started coming out of her hands, uncontrollably. As she tried to contain the magic, Diana started reverting to an elflike form. After a while, Diana’s’ coworker noticed she was gone and went to find her. After entering the alleyway, she noticed the magic and noticed Diana. “Holy Schrap!” She said in a panic. Diana heard this and saw her coworkers’ expression. She got to where she could remove the magic and started walking towards her coworker.
“I know how this looks,” She started to say. Her coworker shook her head and walked back as Diana stepped closer. “What are you?” She asked. Diana tried to think of any sort of explanation. “I don’t know, really,” She admitted. “I’m still figuring that out myself.” She added. Diana knew her coworker was afraid of her now. How were things between them going to be the same after this? Suddenly, sirens were heard due to the magic being detected from earlier. Diana noticed the police driving up and started running off. She then used her magic to fly off and hide herself.
