Silver entered his bedroom, and immediately clutched his chest. Looking down, he saw flickering light from his chest. "This shouldn't be happening."
"Let me guess." He heard a calm, relaxing voice behind him. "Because you woke up before your healing cycle was finished, you're pushing your inner flame to the max, right?"
Turning, he saw Lyna standing there, Silver's coat draped over her crossed arms. "You've risked so much, coming back to us." She said calmly. Tears slowly falling down her cheeks.
"You were worth the risk, my love." Silver approached, wiping his fiancée's tears away. "Besides, I couldn't leave my family. Not now."
Lyna pulled him into a hug. Silver winced, since she was putting pressure on where he was wounded. She went to pull away, but she found that she was being held there.
"My parents approve of us." Silver said, a smile on his face. "They told me so." Lyna looked up at the Master of Fire, confusion on her face.
"While I was healing, I saw them." Silver explained. "And I saw more. I saw the Original Elemental Master of Fire, and Tao Ren. They spoke to me."
"What did they say!?" Lyna asked. "Did they explain how we're supposed to end this?" Silver shook his head.
"Not exactly." Silver went on with his explanation. "They said that my sister and I share their powers. They said that only together, can we stop Loran."
"What does that mean, Love?" Silver could hear uncertainty in his fiancée's voice. "And How did Tao Ren speak with you? The Elemental Deities vanished."
"I'm not entirely sure." Silver explained. "It wasn't the first time he spoke to me. Back when you were hurt, and I was pouring everything into trying to stop Loran, I passed out. He spoke to me then as well."
Lyna gave her fiancé a big smile. "I'm sure you'll figure out what it means." She removed herself from him, and made her way to the door. "You always do."
Silver sat on the bed, snapping his fingers. When no flames ignited, he knew that he would have to wait longer, for his powers to return.
"My healing cycle is still working." The young Master had a concerned look on his face. "Until it's finished, I'm in no shape to fight Loran again."
In his mind, he knew he would have to face him again. Whether it was alone, or with his family, was still yet to be seen. But their was one question still to be answered.
"How does Loran know our every move?" He asked himself. "Maybe there's something in those old books I missed." Silver began his trek to his office, where the books on The Hand of Threngar were being kept.
Entering, he began scrolling through his notes, and books. "What did they mean, by only together?" Silver could find nothing to help him come to a definitive answer.
It was then, that he heard Tao Ren's voice in his head. "Behind you!" Silver didn't turn around fast enough, as when he started turning, a gust of wind blew him across the room, and out the window into the Courtyard. Glass now littered his office floor.
The still wounded Master felt immense pain, as he hit the dirt outside. Looking up at his now broken window, he saw a figure flying out the shattered hole in the wall.
"Your books on The Hand are indeed interesting, Master of Fire." Loran Silverlance stated, softly landing on the ground. "But not entirely truthful. They contain no record of your ancestors deception."
"My ancestor did not deceive yours!" Silver shouted from the ground. "Your ancestor brutally attacked the Elemental Masters, for no reason!"
Loran chose to ignore Silver's statement, as the Master of Fire struggled to stand. "I surely hope you've recovered, because now is the time I fulfill my promise to you." Loran said, with a smirk. "Now is when you die."
Silver had a thought go through his head. 'No powers, no weapons, no plan, no backup. This isn't good. I don't know if I can survive a fight like this, this time."
