I don't own any rights to the images or videos in this book.Time had finally come for Avery to join University. She was a smart girl. Her dream was to join medicine school but her parents didn't have the money to facilitate that. She had chosen literature, her second love. Both her parents were teachers. Her mum Lucy was a kindergarten teacher, her dad, Jeremy was a high school teacher. She had just enough growing up.
It was a pretty sunny Wednesday morning, everyone was in their feelings about Avery leaving for school out of state. Her three brothers pretended to be okay about the whole situation. Her small sister Layla was just a month old. Her mother couldn't stay away from her. That was the only reason Avery had to take herself to school. She understood of course, that was the best thing about Avery. She was level headed and reasonable.
Jeremy was proud of his daughter. He knew she could make it to university. "Stay in your books Avery, don't listen to those boys." he said hugging her goodbye. Paul, her brother who was a year older than her had a hard time bidding her goodbye. They had grown up together, but he always behaved like he was ten years older "Stay away from those niggas Avery before I hurt someone."
Her twin brothers, Sean and Shawn were thirteen and always getting in trouble. They would miss hanging out with their sister. They didn't like Paul too much. They said he behaved like their parent. " Have fun babygirl. Make sure you call us when you are settled".Lucy told her daughter, hugging her tight, almost breaking her ribs.
Avery got into her Uber and headed for the airport. She waved goodbye to her family from the back seat of her uber. She was going to miss them and her hometown terribly. At the same time, she was excited about the new adventure ahead. That's what she thought of it as. "Atlanta Georgia here I come." she thought to herself as she leaned on the car's window listening to Jhene Aiko from her earpods.
