What Now?

It was the second day at our apartment and I swear it felt so good. It was kinda empty but it felt so good. It was big, with shiny white walls and great lighting. That's what I loved the most about it.

We had ordered our beds and the couch immediately we had decided that we'd move out and they would be here in two days.
The apartment would look cute because both Mariah and I had great taste.

I got up early enough and made my morning coffee. I was a sucker for coffee. We had done food shopping the previous night so were set. I made some pancakes for the both of us and some sausages. I wasn't in the mood for cereal.

I went to my empty bedroom to take a quick shower and head out. My plan for the day was to hit several vintage stores and get some cute pieces that I'd revamp and sell. Of course Mariah would come along with me.

I finished and was glad to see that she was already prepared and taking her breakfast. "Bitch this tastes good." she said with a mouthful. I didn't love cooking but I knew how to cook. See that was another reason why I didn't want to be in a relationship. Niggas loved it when their women cooked and cleaned for them. That whole idea rubbed me off the wrong way. I admired my friends who cooked and cleaned for their boyfriends. That wasn't in me. A husband, now that's something else.

We were out of the apartment and hit the stores. It was a pretty day. We went to about six stores and I was pretty satisfied with what I had shopped. We were so tired and decided to have lunch.
I couldn't wait to get home and relax. Did I mention that I was sleeping on my mattress that was on the floor?

I showered the minute we got home and changed into a tank top and biker shorts. We chilled thereafter as Mariah made dinner and we opened a bottle of wine.
My mind went to Jamie, curious about what he was doing. On cue, he called me. I swear that always happened. I'd be thinking about him and he'd call me.

"Hey gorgeous." he said sweetly.
"Hey." I blushed hard and I saw Mariah roll her eyes.
"You got back and don't wanna see me? I'm hurt" he said faking.
"Tuh, you don't wanna know. Been busy getting the apartment together."
"How's that coming along?"
" Pretty. Sleeping on the damn floor. " I said and he laughed.

"Why you laughing? I'm struggling." I said faking hurt.
"Chill out ma. It's all part of the process." he said.
"So, I was checking on the spa around your place. I'm done now. Wanna head to my place and sleep on a real bed?" he asked. This man knew how to get me. How was I supposed to say no to that?

"Ummh, Riah is cooking. Idk." I said unsure.
"She is? That girl hates me."he said and I heard shuffling from his end.
" No she doesn't. She's mean sometimes. To everyone. " I responded.
" Nah, I swear she hates me. Anyway. I just got into the car. I'll be at home. Finish up with Riah. I'm waiting for you gorgeous. "he said and hung up.

"Ugly ass Jamie?" Riah asked and I chuckled.
"You know that man ain't ugly hoe." I said laughing.
"Get your eyes checked. So he's your boyfriend now?" she asked looking at me.
"He's not. We just fucking. Exclusively." I said and walked to my room to change and get myself together.
