Y/N's Pov

After Jarnie had practically kidnapped me and Lizzie from our little spot on the hill she drove us along roads, apartment plots and fields until we came to a pleasant village, and drove through it, making our way towards a cul-de-sac with few small dark wood cottages littered around the area, it honestly looked like something out of a cartoon.

Jarnett pulled into a driveway and I furrowed by brows until I realised "You live here?" I questioned, observing the proud-standing house in front of us as we exited the car.

"No I'm just walking up and random person's drive and unlocking their front door with a key I just happen to have" Jarnie shot at me as she walked into the cordial home.

I rolled my eyes in response and grumbled while Lizzie covered her mouth with her hand, stifling a laugh that threatened to spill through her fingers.

I looked at here and made eye contact immediately, making my cheeks flush slightly at the sight of her piercing green eyes on me.

But then I saw as her hand was falling from her face, she wasn't wearing her ring.

"Where's your ring?" I questioned, taking her hand gently and glancing down at it before looking back at her face which broke out into a smile once I looked at her.

She squeezed my hand and faced the front door, walking inside the house and pulling me gently with her "I figured I didn't need it anymore" She replied cheekily, still dragging me through the threshold then through to her Mother's kitchen where said mother stood leaning against the counter, arms crossed and seemingly awaiting our arrival.

We stopped and looked at Jarnie before looking at each other like two teenagers who just got caught making out.

Lizzie groaned and dropped my hand, mirroring her mother's position- she crossed her arms and leaned instead against the wall, staring back at Jarnett. "I thought you'd already given your heroic mom speech."

Jarnie raised an eyebrow and I stood slightly away from them, scared of them both. Jarnie's floor suddenly became the main attraction.

"First of all, watch your attitude," This made Lizzie falter her posture slightly but regained her mimic soon enough "Second of all, I just wanted to say I'm proud of you Elizabeth"

Lizzie immediately uncrossed her arms and stared back at her mum, mouth slightly agape.

Jarnie continued, "But I think you both have a lot to talk about. There's a bench in the back garden so feel free to use that"

"That's what she said" I smiled to myself, still looking down.

I felt their eyes on me so I looked up, the smile immediately wiped from my face.

Two unimpressed faces stared back at me as I gave an apologetic smile and gestured for them to continue.

"I need to go to the store anyway, I think some booze is needed for tonight." Jarnett decided, swiftly gliding around her kitchen, grabbing the necessities and with that, she was out the door.

Lizzie and I turned away from the door that was just slammed to face each other, her emerald eyes boring into my soul.

"Not to be difficult..but I'd quite like to have this chat without wearing my wedding dress" Lizzie scrunched her nose and it brought a smile to my face.

"No of course. I assume you have clothes here?" I inquired

She nodded, biting her bottom lip softly whilst scanning my face "I left some here a while ago, I'm sure I'll be able to find them"

"You want help?"

"I want company" She corrected, gently taking my hand and rubbing her thumb over the back of it as she walked towards her mother's bedroom.

She opened drawers and wardrobes looking for her clothes, all whilst continuously holding my hand which proved to be very difficult for her.

"You can let go of my hand you know, it will be a lot easier for you" I laughed quietly at her struggles

"I can let go of your hand." She said, turning to face me as she finished her sentence "But I don't want to" She gave me a fuzzy smile and a kiss on the cheek before turning back and continuing her search.

After another 30 seconds of looking, she brandished some of her clothes with a triumphant yell, turning to show me like a toddler who drew a picture.

I laughed and kissed the crown of her head "I'll leave you to change"

She nodded, smiling as she looked up at me, her eyes sparkling even in the dimming light.

Her smile grew as she saw my dazed expression "Creep, you're staring"

I shook my head gently, smiling myself "Not staring, just admiring"

"Where have I heard that from" She scrunched her eyebrows together

I shrugged "I got it from some book"

She laughed before shoving me out the door and I closed it behind me.

I let out a breath and made my way through Jarnie's cottage, navigating towards the back garden. As I walked through, I spotted pictures of Lizzie and her sisters in framed portraits hanging on various areas of the wall, mantelpieces and tables.

I smiled at their little faces adorning the pictures and continued through the house.

I finally found the door to the garden and slid it across, slipping out and returning it to it's original position.

Locating the bench Jarnie mentioned, I sat down on it, letting my head drop back onto the back and closing my eyes, breathing out a heavy sigh. The day flashed in front of me and I realised how fucked everything is.

But for now I just want to savour the little bubble Lizzie and I have created for as long as possible.

"There you are" Her sweet voice reached my ears and a smile graced my lips as I peaked one eye open at her before resuming my position.

She sat down next to me and wiggled closer to me, her back against my side as I draped an arm over her shoulder and chest to which she clung onto.

She sighed "We have some things to talk about"

I opened my eyes and looked down at her, her body still facing away from me "And the understatement of the year goes to our very own Lizard Olsen!" I announced dramatically into the night air.

She laughed heartily and turned to face me, sitting with her legs crossed and her head resting against my sternum now.

"What if we leave society together, live in the forest and never come back" She questions genuinely

Now it was my turn to let out a belly laugh "How would we survive?"

She shrugged "My garden will keep us alive"

"You'd bring your garden to the forest we'd be hiding out in?"

She rolled her eyes "A woman can dream"

I gasped "We could have little pet ducks with us!"

"Ducks?!"

"Yeah ducks!"

"But they're terrifying" She pouts

"You've obviously never met the right duck." I stated

"And you have?" She raised an eyebrow

I opened my mouth but closed it again like a fish out of water. Now it was my turn to pout.

"Awww is someone angry they didn't get their own way?" She teased which only made me cross my arms.

She kissed my pout away and I deepened the kiss, weaving my hands through her hair as hers slid to my cheeks and gripped them, rubbing her thumb over my cheekbone.

As we broke apart when oxygen became a necessity, we held eye contact as she blinked a few times.

"Yeah we do have some things to talk about" I muttered into the space between us.
