Sammy is sent to bed early by Will for what she did. Despite them having a heart-to-heart, Will still made her go to bed early. Sammy gets restless, and when it is very late, Sammy decides to wander around the halls invisible. Before she can head back to bed, she sees Mia sneaking off through a door in her spooky outfit from earlier.
After following Mia outside, she discovers she is in a trainyard and overhears Mia talking to some people who wanted to make a deal with the rebellion. After the conversation starts to turn sour, Sammy runs away from the trainyard and ends up getting lost.
As she sits down at a lamppost bench, she is approached by a group of five men in suits. They can automatically tell that she is a street kid and try to take her with them. Sammy starts screaming at them, saying she had a family, but they wouldn't listen. They didn't until Mia shows up.
After Mia shows up, one of the men, Brad, tells Sammy all about the murders that the Reaper has done and called Mia a monster. Sammy didn't let that stand, and instead of running from fear of Mia, she runs up and hugs Mia, calling her family. Brad pulls out a gun and the men want to take Sammy with them so they can sell her as leverage on the Reaper to the government.
Mia doesn't let that happen and ends up murdering all of them. Mia cries in front of Sammy, saying how relieved she was that Sammy was okay. Mia goes to say something else to Sammy but cuts herself off. Sammy demands that she tells her, and Mia promises to when they get back to the base.
They leave the scene and return home.

I got slightly emotional writing the last chapter, another reason why it took so long for it to come out. Now, there is only one more chapter left of this story sadly and then I will have to work on the next book.
It will be a while before I start posting the next book because I like to write a giant rough draft of each book before I go through and make the final edits for Wattpad.
It is already in progress and another reason why these last chapters have been taking so long.
One of the biggest reasons why I am taking forever is because of the representation I'm trying to do with my stories.
Almost every single one of these characters is a part of the LGBTQ+ community in some way. Some of them I picture as mixed, and I want to represent them justly.
If I get to it, I might post an information book for this series just so that no one gets confused.
One of the characters was causing me a bit of difficulty in making sure I represent a community right.
I have many different orientations in this book, from Bi, Lesbian, Transgender man and woman, non-binary, you name it.
If I miss an orientation, I am sorry I am still expanding my knowledge.
ANYWAYS!
Hope you all have a great day!
