It's hard for children during times of struggle, war, and pain. It always affects them the hardest.
Sammy is meant to be someone that younger kids, and even some adults, can relate to. She is innocent, pure, and with the struggles she is having to face, she doesn't fully understand why it is all happening to her.
Deep inside, we all want to be like Sammy, carefree and childlike. So, when it comes to this story, I wanted to have a viewpoint of this world from a variety of different ages.
This book is going to contain quite a lot of sad and emotional scenes that no one should have to live through. Please, look after those around you. No one is alone, they just haven't looked close enough to see the people who care.
