Meet Me in the Woods | Shadowsight x Rootspring

Prologue

           Shadowsight and Rootspring walked shoulder to shoulder around the bend towards SkyClan. Both Clans knew about the relationship and had grown accustomed to seeing them together. The mates walked forth into SkyClan, Shadowsight looked up into the sky the sun reflecting off his eyes making him squint. The warriors padded on through the heat, briefly stopping at the river to take a drink. Rootspring playfully batted the water at Shadowsight. Shadowsight shook his head, and nudged Rootspring back towards the path with an amused look on his face.  

          Padding along, the pair came across a dense cluster of bushes. The grey tail of Harrybrook lay out of one of the bushes. Shadowsight pauses looking at the bush apprehensively. 

"Hey Root, is that Harrybrook?" Shadowsight had become more familiar with SkyClan warriors. 

"Yes, it looks like it." Rootspring meowed in return. "Hey Harrybrook!" They received no answer in return. 

          Shadowsight looks at the bush puzzled, Rootspring nudges him motioning that they need to continue on before moonhigh. Shadowsight still wasn't sure about Harrybrook's silence.    

         They walked through the Twoleg path towards the back of the camp. Once they entered the camp Needleclaw ran towards them. 

"Harrybrook has gone missing! We haven't seen him since he left to go hunt yesterday at sunhigh." Needleclaw said glancing around.

Rootspring laughed. "We saw him on the way in! He was in a bush. We said hi."

Needleclaw's face darkened. "WHAT? We need to go now."

         The mates turned and trotted off with Needleclaw trailing behind. They walked back around the first bend. A grey, fluffy tail was laying out of a bush.

"Oh my gosh! Harrybrook what are you doing? We've been looking everywhere for you!" Needleclaw said moving away the bush with her nose.
