MATT'S POV!
matt was laying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. he could hear chris singing the 'girl meets world' theme song.
"chris will you shut up?" he called out.
"I'VE GOT A TICKET TO THE TOP OF SKYYY!" chris sings even louder. matt rolls his eyes.
"chris i swear to god, shut the fuck up." he was met with footsteps of chris coming into his room.
"TAKE ON THE WORLD, TAKE ON THE WORLD, TAKE ON THE WORLD—" he was cut off by matt throwing a pillow at his face.
"stop it. you're such a fucking child." he says. chris grinned.
"someone's upset because mom wouldn't let them drive to toronto." he teased in a sing-song voice. matt glared at him.
"it's so fucking stupid! i'm 18, i should be able to drive to toronto on my own."
"matt, you need me and nick to be able to drive. who's going to help if you have an anxiety attack?" he said. matt sighed, knowing it was true. he was about to say some stupid comeback before his phone rang. snatching it up before he could, chris takes the phone.
"it's cory!" he exclaims. matt attempts to grab the phone but chris runs out of the room.
"CHRIS COME BACK!" matt runs after him. chris runs down the stairs, matt following. chris answers the phone right before running into the bathroom and locking it.
"is that matt?" cory asks, laughing as matt bangs on the bathroom door.
"chris give me the fucking phone!" matt yells. chris yells back a no. matt groans and hits the door before retreating to the kitchen.
"YOU'RE KIDDING. WHAT THE FUCK?" he hears chris scream from the bathroom. a moment later, chris runs out. "MATT YOU'RE NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS." he thrusts the phone into matt's hand. cory is grinning from ear to ear.
"what's going on?" he asked. cory shrugged, still smiling.
"a certain cordelia stacy jackson may have just gotten accepted into boston university..." she said. matt's confused face lit up.
"no fucking way. boston u? that's like twenty minutes away from here!" matt said, excitedly. cory squealed.
"i know! that's why i was so excited when i got accepted. i was originally planning on going to university of toronto since that was my only acception at this point but yeah! i'm gonna be moving to boston in july. and josh is taking a gap year, so he might be staying in boston, too."
"JOSH CAN STAY WITH US!" chris yelled into the phone. cory laughed.
"he was probably thinking about that, assuming your parents would be okay with it?"
"of course!" marylou sturniolo walked up behind matt. "any friend of the boys is welcome to stay however long they need to! you'll just have to be okay with sharing a room if it's going to be long term."
"wait really?" josh asked from behind cory. "that's sick! thank you so much! i have to tell mom." he runs out. cory chuckles.
"thank you so much, marylou." she smiles. "you've made this so much easier for mom."
"i'm glad to help!" marylou said, cheerfully. she left the kitchen, leaving matt and chris alone with cory on the phone.
"chris, can you give me and matt a minute?" cory asked. chris sighed.
"fine." he walked off into nick's room. nick was still sleeping.
"i miss you." matt said the second chris had left.
"i miss you too, lover boy." cory replied.
"don't call me lover boy." he hugged.
"okay lover boy."
"alright, this call is over. i'll talk to you later, cor. bye!"
"bye lover boy!"

also i'm sorry if the lover boy thing is crazy to you guys i know it's a little old, but keep in mind this book was written a month after the fanfic video, so at the time this was being worked on, EVERYONE was calling matt lover boy. i decided to keep it in the story only because the story still takes place in april of 2022, so i wanted to stay within the timeframe.
