Mikasa stood with her hands softly gripping the railing of the ship. They had finally arrived to Marley's Port. It was true, there were people outside the walls, hundreds, no, thousands even, and the city, looked as though it had slipped from a dream into reality. She let the smell of salty wind brush against her face. "They'd made it this far?" she doubted their existence. The circumstances where nothing like they'd imagined, but yet, they'd made it this far. She looked over to see Hange and Levi. It seemed as though the normally spry commander Hange was at a loss for words; and maybe somewhere on their face, a hint of relief. Captain Levi was always still, but this was different, he seemed frozen. Frozen the way in which a child gets stuck gazing through a window of toy's they cannot have. Standing behind them was Armin. "Armin," she thought, as a smile breeze across her lips,"he seemed the most at peace." He had a large grin spread across his face, his eyes absorbing every inch of the landscape before him; his hands clenched into balls of passion. It was like looking into the past, like when they were young, it was like looking at hope; "He was always so filled with it" She pondered. Mikasa shifted her body towards the man standing closes to her, his eyes dark, looking past the city before them. She studied him, moments past, but his gaze remained lost somewhere only he could see. "Eren," she called, he gave nothing. "Eren," she repeated. He passively turned and looked in her direction, his eyes never meeting her own, "Hm?" he responded, and Mikasa settled for that being enough.

When the ship came to a stop, the Scouts made their way towards the off ramp. Mikasa was keeping a close distance to Eren when a gust of wind came and blew her white bowlers hat from her head. She watched it float over top the crowed as she sprinted through them. The hat sailed over the railing as Mikasa snagged it just before it was out of reach. She was not yet use to the new clothes she had received. Everything was white, the ankle length pleaded skirt, the shoes with small heals that clacked with every step, the stockings that now had runs going up the knee, and the rather stiff pea coat that squeezed around her elbows. She brushed down her ruffled costume, hastily shuffling off the ship. Mikasa saw that Hange, Connie, and Sasha where chasing after some odd machine; Captain Levi, Armin, Jean, and Onyankopon were standing nearby, but she couldn't spot Eren. She paused, frantically searching for the dark eyed man before spotting him standing far away from the other. Mikasa pushed her way through the dense crowed until she found herself upon him. "Eren," she calls, "Stay close to me, there's no telling what will happen." Silenced lingered between them, his eyes beyond the reach of Mikasa's voice, "Y-yeah..." he mentions, more as a reaction rather than an answer. Mikasa poured over him, yearning to know where her friend had gone, if he'd come back to her. "Stop spacing out Eren," a huffed voice rang out, braking the weight that was slowly crushing Mikasa. "We're in the outside world aren't?" Armin continued. "Yeah" Eren dimly replied. "This is the other side of the sea... right?" the dark eyed man finished. Mikasa peered up at him, her eyes filled with worry, she might have reached out to touch him, had she not briefly mistaking him for a stranger. Captain Levi shouting at the three of them to stop wandering off and so they turned to join the others.

Connie, Jean, and Sasha were huddled around a stand shouting at one another, behind it was a round man wearing a tall white hat. Armin had slid himself inside of what looked to be a small shop filled with books. Hange was speaking to Onyankopon, occasionally laughing and then smacking him on the back. Captain Levi was being harassed by a large strange looking man carrying colorful disks on sticks. He was covered in a ghostly pale white, wore vibrant colored clothes, large shoes, and a round red nose. Everything around Mikasa was so strange, so new, it felt like the world was folding in on her. She had seen many people, not dressed like this, many cities, not built like this, many titians, not fear like this. She would usually wrap herself in the scarf Eren gave to her, but was instructed not to wear it. What frightened her the most was the uncertainty, not of what might happened but of right now- in this moment; "what was she suppose to be doing?" Mikasa wondered. She stood with one arm reaching across her chest, holding the other that dangled to her side. No one had given her orders and so, she waited, an extension of Eren's silence. Armin exited the book shop and walked over to stand by her. "Just in time." Mikasa said, point a finger towards Connie, Sasha, and Jean. They had begun freaking out over some sort of white fluff swirled in their hands. Each lick they took was immediately followed by fits of flailing limbs, crossed eyes, and wails of astonishment. "It looked....fun," Mikasa mused, a hint of smile nudging at her lips; though, she remained where she was. For as long as she could remember there had always been this glass wall between her and the world. One that she could see through, but never be apart of. She hardly noticed Jean making his way to them. "YOU GUYS HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS!" his words vibrated her wall, his face stuck in awestruck, he reached his hand through, in it, white fluff swirled atop a cone. Mikasa reached out and grabbed it, marveling at it; she dipped her tongue into its frozen sweetness and glee spread through her cheeks, a tiny beam crept across on her lips, her face flustered with elation. She looked up to see Jean sling his arm over Armin's shoulder and usher him towards the stand. Mikasa took one step forward to follow, "Eren?" she thought, and looked back at the somber man; "maybe this would bring him back to her." She approached and presented to him a delicate smile and the frozen treat. "Eren, you should try it too." She offered. The dark eyed man stared at her offering as if she had handed him something broken. "Ice cream," he mentioned, "You know what this is?" Mikasa asked with a divided tone in her voice. "From the old man's memories," Eren began, "Eldins living in the interment zone rarely get to eat one, even though there are so many things outside the walls..." His sentence abandoned, allowing the ice cream to melt over his fingers, he never so much as took a bite. Mikasa's retreated behind her wall, holding her arm, her smile, like the ice cream, melted before she could taste it. "Had Eren always been this way?" "Always this cold?" "Had he always looked right through me?" She thought, "or had the cruelness of the world made him this way?" "...and, have I ...?" She watched the rest of the unit moving further away, "The group is leaving us."
