"Loki" you gently called as you knocked on his door "I've brought you some food"

You listened carefully at the door but got no response. He had locked himself away in his room yesterday morning just after the Avengers left for their mission leaving you alone in the tower wondering what you did wrong.

"I'll just leave it outside the door for you" you sighed as you placed down the tray and walked away.

Loki's absence continued for the remainder of the day. As worried as you were he had at least eaten the food you brought earlier, the tray laid empty outside his door. You ordered pizza for dinner and made sure to order enough to share with Loki. Dropping it off with just a knock and a quick shout of 'food' to let him know it was there, you swiftly left. Hopefully the team would be back soon and Thor could get Loki to open up.

That night you lay awake thinking of Loki. When you first met him 6 months ago he was prickly and rude to you, just like he was with the rest of the team but slowly he let his guard down and you both became the best of friends. This is why him ignoring you hurt, you just wanted to help but you couldn't do that if he didn't talk to you. What had you done that was so wrong he would resort to avoiding you?

Most people wouldn't spend so much time thinking anything of Loki's odd behaviour but then again most people weren't madly in love with the God of Mischief. Not that anyone else knew that. You had kept your feelings to yourself, scared the team would tease you and that Loki would reject you. He may be your closest friend but you doubted he would want more from a mere mortal. It had only been about 36 hours but you desperately missed him. His sweet, caring, charming, playful side as well as his devilishly good looks.

You finally drifted off to a fitful sleep but were soon woken by a blood curdling scream coming from Loki's room and it chilled you to your bones. Darting out of bed you run across to his door.

"LOKI..." you shout whilst furiously knocking on his door.

The only response is an animalistic growl which makes you shiver.

"Lokes....please open the door" you continue.

"LEAVE!" he shouts, his voice menacing and full of rage.

"NO!" you cry back "I am coming in".

You were a telepath with telekinetic abilities but you could also teleport so the locked door was no issue. You had gotten your powers when you were kidnapped by Hydra as a child and experimented on. When you teleported it felt as if you were floating and sinking at the same time which was unnerving but Loki needed you.

You materialised inside Loki's room to find it dark, the only light coming through the slight gap in the blinds. You scanned the room allowing your eyes to adjust to the darkness and found Loki curled up in a corner shaking.

"Lokes, please tell me what's wrong" you said in a soothing voice, hoping it would calm him.

"I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE" he roared.

"And I said NO" you replied firmly. "I want to help"

"You can't help me, no-one can" he almost sobbed before screaming "I'M A MONSTER!"

"Lokes, you are not a monster. You're my best friend. Let me help you" you said tentatively taking a step towards him.

"Don't come any closer" he snarled backing away.

"I'm not afraid of you Loki" you declared as you took another step towards him.

"You should be little mortal" he sneered.
