hao's giggles

His giggles.

The most endearing thing about Xu Minghao to you was his giggles. The small noise may go unnoticed by the vast majority but is so endearing to you. Just the noise alone could evoke butterflies in your stomach.

The low octave noise which slowly increases in pitch as he continues laughing at his friend's not-so-funny joke could make you fall deeper in love with him than you already are. You could never stop yourself from smiling when he erupts in giggles.

"What are you smiling so much for?" Hao asked you one day when he looked up from his phone after giggling at some cat meme he found, as you were both in the corner of the library, hiding behind the shelves on the carpeted floor, having a 'study' date.

"Your giggles are so adorable, how could I not smile?" You tell him without missing a beat. His face instantaneously turns beetroot red and looks back down at his phone. "Aw, is my Minghao getting all shy?" You coo at him at his unexpected behaviour.

You rarely flirt with him but in your defence, both of you were bad at accepting compliments, Minghao always shaking them off, while you would just pretend he did not say anything.

But here you were seeing Xu Minghao blushing and attempting to cover it up.

"I'm not shy, just.. shocked. If anything my giggles are manly. Not cute." He tries to defend himself. "If anyone is cute, it's you!" He adds.

Now it was your turn to have your face heat up from getting flustered. You immediately tackle him and push him to the ground out of shame. Both of you were already used to getting in the near proximity of each other. So you stay huddled up on the ground, feeling the warmth emanating from each other and basking in it.

As you both ignore the forgotten study materials and cat memes, you giggle together by yourselves, praying that no one would find you both in this state.

"How about we try to finish our work and then cuddle at home instead?" Hao suggests after a good five minutes.

Of course you accept it because, who were you to reject such an incredible offer?
