The booth they were given was the best one around the tracks. Jimin knew this because he could see clearly, Yoongi and Jungkook looking at each other before putting their helmets on and walking towards their individual cars. Jimin watched silently, holding a glass of champagne, the one Taehyung pushed into his hands.
He was nervous, his eyes fixed on Yoongi's car, with the matte black finish and white numbers, 13.
"I couldn't dare say this before." Taehyung chipped. "But they are looking fine as hell in those tight fitted suits."
Jimin agreed. But the line between admiration and attraction was thinning. So he pushed the thoughts to the side because he would also hate to admit this out aloud. He was still nervous. He knew extreme sports was the way the Chairman liked to release the steam from work. The rush. The adrenaline. Similar to the way Yoongi releases his tension.
And just when he thought he could wash away the very thoughts which redden his cheeks, they all came rushing tenfold.
"Reminds me of that week, where the Chairman was here every day." Jin mumbled softly.
"Everyday?" Jimin looked up, and he instantly regretted it when he was met with Taehyung's devilish grin. We knew what that meant.
"Wasn't it during Jimin's probation period?" Taehyung murmured playfully. "A time where the Chairman was the most stressed, perhaps really frustrated because a certain someone-"
"Enough." The secretary looked away, his cheeks hot with heat as the memory of this week returned to him, especially because he realised Yoongi had many internal battles as well. He wondered what other information Taehyung was holding but he didn't know if he could stomach the response. Instead he was focused on the starting line. He saw Yoongi's numerous trophies and medals, seemly every match he comes home with something. "Was the guy from earlier good?"
"He's crap." Jin laughed. "He just does the sports for the attention. He thinks the Chairman is his rival or something."
"Let him live his imaginary villain arc." Taehyung shrugged. "The real competition is between Jungkook and Yoongi."
"Wasn't it Yoongi who got Jungkook into racing last year." Jin added. "Now they are evenly matched."
"I wouldn't say that." Taehyung shrugged, offering Jimin more champagne. The older refused.
Jimin watched lap after lap, entering the final stage. It was clear who was wining, the black car which his eyes were fixed on. But a sigh of relief was still too early.
"What the hell, that dude keeps trying to crash into the Chairman's car." Jin pointed out worriedly, there was a blue and yellow car following behind, weaving around Yoongi's car. The vehicles skidding against each other, "Is that even legal."
"No it's not, he's being aggressive." Taehyung got up from his seat as if it was the first time he ever saw it. "Number 12 got a warning."
"Then why is he still-" Jimin's eyes were fixed on the screen. The dent in Yoongi's race car becoming more obvious. Upon the third crash, just before the finishing line, Yoongi's car had flipped over. Beneath Jimin was the shattered glass of the champagne glass he hadn't drank.
There wasn't room to think, because Jimin was already running out of the booth, down the staircase and onto the tracks. Yoongi's car had flipped directly onto the side, the blue car also beaten up next to it.
He watched as the door burst open, scared to look any closer, he stared from a distance. His steps becoming slower until he saw Yoongi pull himself out of the wreckage.Yoongi tore his helmet off, his hand all blistered and red, and Jimin thought about all the wounds he couldn't see. The state he was in broke something in Jimin and once the seal was ripped off, only his anger could surge out.
He turned towards the blue car, the driver already out of the vehicle laughing, like he was only trying to pull a stupid prank. Sean. It was the guy from earlier. But Jimin didn't care who it was, he went up to him, easily landing a punch across his face, "you're pathetic." And even that couldn't settle the secretary's anger.
The person to grab Jimin to the side was Jungkook. His grip strong, like he was warning him, but Jimin's glare was still fixed on Sean. "If you're going to kill him, shouldn't you pick a spot with less people."
Jimin was silent, too many thoughts running through his mind. "Get off me, I still need to punch the other side of his face."
"Jimin." It was Yoongi who spoke gently. "I'm okay."
Jimin looked at him, closely observing his weak smile. He wasn't. The Chairman was the one that warned him about keeping safe. He wanted to shout. Ask why he let someone do this? Jimin would forgive him if he lost. "Hypocrite." He bite, before leaving the tracks.
Before Yoongi could follow, Jungkook had stopped him. "Only winners get the prize. I believe it was a date, Mr Chairman." He grinned before jogging after Jimin, grabbing his arm once more. "Follow quietly and calm down."

Jimin stared at the food Jungkook ordered for him, they were at a restaurant the CEO had driven them to. He didn't even know why he followed, perhaps, he didn't know what else to do.
"At least don't look like you want to murder me too. I'm helping you." Jungkook cleared his throat, cutting into his steak. "That way no rules are broken right?"
The secretary caved and took a small bite of his food.
"So..." Jimin started. "How can you see Taehyung out of work... and just not care?""I don't." Jungkook replied. "You only have to avoid one person. But I have the stay away from two, even if I see them outside, I have to ignore it. But that doesn't mean I don't care."
"But you chose polygamy." Jimin stuttered.
"Eventually, but it wasn't something I thought I would be in." Jungkook smiled before taking another bite. "Over time, you learn boundaries. You learn what they are like. I admit, I'm not as patient as Hoseok. And even now, I'm still learning. Hoseok was my dominant mentor. He mentored Yoongi too and shaped the rules of the company the way it was. However, the Chairman always has the final say. And although sometimes they were unreasonable, they had to be followed."
"In your opinion, which rule should be removed?" Jimin asked.
Jungkook said. "What happens at work stays at work."
"Why was that rule put in place?" Jimin asked.
"Because the secrets of the company were almost revealed to the public," Jungkook answered. "It was the start of the implication of the system and many weren't respectful of the rules. Things got out of hand and Yoongi had to cover it up."
"There's a but to your tone." Jimin observed.
"But not everyone can easily put forward a vow of marriage like Namjoon and Jin."
Jimin understood this. There were contracts that were hard to form. And this was one of them.
"But some rules are meant to be broken, and I think if you were the one to break them, the Chairman would forgive you."
