It was the last week of the summer holidays before I started year 11, not that I really went to school anyway. My attendance was crippled.
But one week left means one last party. Me or my bestfriend Manaia would always host the parties since our parents weren't home.
Our parents have been bestfriends since we were small and well, since we were little they would do drugs together, go out drinking. Nowadays it just seems like they are never at home.
Manaia is one year younger than me so I had to bring her up myself. I want the best for her but it's not always easy. We both get into bad situations ourselves.
With all the parties and the smoking and the drugs and the drinking and the, well... hooking up. Wasn't the best for our reputation round our end.
My bestfriend from school Imani. I don't even know how we because friends. She's perfect. Perfect grades, perfect family and perfect fucking life. But she was always there for me. That type of friends that checks the road before you cross it so you don't get ran over.
Manaia's boyfriend of three months, Jobe was hosting a party at his tonight which we obviously all got invited to. I'd met jobe a few times and we got along really well he treated Manaia like a queen aswell.
Then my phone started to ring. It was a group call with Manaia and Jobe.

"Hi my people." Jobe said as we accepted the phone call.
"uhm okay." I said rolling my eyes.
"Tesh, you bringing the booze?" Manaia asked.
"As always bae."
"I'm right here you know!" Jobe shouted through the phone.
"Uhm she was mine first, k." I said.
"Ok break it up, Tesh meet me at mine at 5. We'll get ready together."
"K, love you bye."

I had to decide what I was going to wear so I could bring it to Manaia's. But I decided to text Imani to see if she was coming. I doubt it her parent were doing this big family barbecue that they do every summer, her parents wouldn't let her miss it.
