It was the first day of school and as always I woke up late. I peeled open my sleepy eyes and I checked my phone to see it was 10.36am with 9 missed calls from Manaia and Imani most probably wondering where I was.

I decided I may aswell take my time since I'm already late so I decided to actually make something edible for breakfast. There was still some of the red cap milk my mum bought still in the fridge and I used the last of that to pair with my cheerios.

As I was eating also being on my phone at the same time, a notification popped up.

I knew exactly who this was, it was Jobe's brother, the boy from his party of course.

The notification put a smile on my face. He hasn't forgotten about me even though it has officially been a week since the party.

I saved his number but I didn't know what to text him. What was weird cos I don't don't get nervous swear down.

Dumbarse. Can't tell if he was being serious but I genuinely has places to be and people to see. Aka my mum.

My mum was most likely in rehab right now. She never really feels the need to tell me when she gets admitted but I just assume.

My mum didn't raise me wrong but she didn't raise me right either. For example, she taught me to stand up for myself and she taught me to do whats right but the drugs are what was wrong, the hookups and the alcohol. I love her and I'd do anything to have her back in the house with me, back in my life... but there's not much I can do.

I got dressed into something warm since it had cooled down since the start of September.

I walked over to the centre where my mum should be. Not far from my house couple of streets and then a short walk through town, shouldn't take long...
