The News

Lola was walking home after school, it was a nice afternoon. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and there was no noise down her street, she was happy... For now. She didn't know that a big flush of sadness was coming her way. When she arrived home she opened the door and walked in, it was like a usual day, her parents were sitting on the couch doing their on thing, they said hello to Lola and she said her hellos back. She walked up to her bedroom opened the door and she put her bag down and was about to lay down when she noticed a note on her bed, it wrote:

" Dear Lola,
It's your brother Jack, I just wanted to say that I am sorry, I will miss you a lot and I know you will miss me. You mean so much to and me and you always will, I hope you don't blame yourself for me doing this, but if you do just remember I am saying it's not your fault its other people's fault. I love you heaps and I wish I could've stayed with you forever but no, I can't handle it anymore. Hopefully you'll have a good life, minus me and I know that hard for you but try to have s good life without me. Just remember this wasn't because of you or any of our family it was because of other people that you don't know... Ok. I love you and always will in in spirit and your probably catching on now, but yeah, this is hard to say but..... Ummmmm.... *sighs*...... Goodbye Lola...

Lola started crying because she didn't know what had happened, but she was confused aswell. She got blu tack out and stuck it next to her bed and then went downstairs to get a snack.
When she got downstairs to get a snack, she was cutting some cheese for cheese and biscuits and sensed someone was behind her, and she right, it was her mum walking up behind her. She turned around and said, "why do u look so sad and angry and... And... I don't know depressed". Her mum then said, " Well did you read that note that was placed on your bed... Well I have some news for you and it's not good news, it's bad news, very bad news". Her mum now had a tear in her eye. Lola was worried and angry and scared then she yelled out, " MUM PLEASE TELL ME, I KNOW ITS ABOUT JACK... I know it is.... Please tell me now mum, now.." Lola now had tears running down her cheeks and her mum was starting to cry aswell.

After a little while her mum then just said it..., " Well Lola, the reason he left that note and said I will love you in 'Spirit' well he will because, well, Jack is dead, because he was getting bullied so bad and got hurt everyday he committed suicide, we don't know right now how, but the police and ambulance got called because they heard some certain bad noises and then they found him and he was gone.... I am sorry Lola......". At this point Lola was balling her eyes out she fell to the ground and was lying on the ground crying and she didn't stop for about half an hour. After she partly stopped and could talk properly again, she said," WHY HIM, WHY JACK, HE WAS THE BEST BROTHER IN THE WORLD, WHY COULDNT HE JUST NOT BE BULLIED. WHY DID HE DO THAT, THATS WHY HE SAID HE LOVES ME AND ALWAYS WILL. I AM SO SAD AND ANGRY AND SCARED, WHY DID HE HAVE TO.... WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!". Through that sentence she was crying and yelling and just having a mental breakdown she then ran up the stairs and into his bedroom and then lay on his bed and stayed there crying for ages and ages, by dinner time she was asleep in her brothers bed, her mum walked in and tapped her on the shoulder and said," Sweetie, dinner is ready if you come down we can comfort you with your favourite things, we also have something for you". Lola slowly turned around, her face red and still wet from the tears, she slowly sat up and stood up. She took her mums hand and they walked down the stairs slowly. Lola was wrapped up in one of his blankets and was in her pjs as well.

When she and her mum had got down the bottom of the stairs she smelt and spotted something she loved, her favourite dinner. It was fried rice, she ran up to the bowl and took it and sat on the couch. Then her mum came over to her and then handed her something that Lola just snatched, it was Jack's phone, they found it sitting on the grass when they were investigating the scene and they gave it to us and I knew you would love keeping it for memories and just because it's Jack's phone. For a while she was playing on it, looking at it and then she found the same message on his phone but it was too the whole of her family. There was also a picture that was taken before he was gone, Lola just started crying again and touching the phone hoping he would come back in front of her eyes right that second.... But he didn't, of course he didn't.

After Lola had dinner and had a look at Jack's phone, she took all of Jack's stuff and walked up to her bedroom and put everything that was Jack's that she wanted to keep and put them in key points of her room, so mainly her desk, bookshelf and bed. Then she got into bed and her mum tucked her in and kissed her on the head and then her dad came in and did the same thing. Lola was still sad but she was happy that she still had her mum and dad and her other family and she fell asleep thinking about her loving mum, dad and family..
