What if Esix was taken by Zerif instead of Urza

Chapter 1

Rollan stared up at Zerif, the black spiral on his forehead wriggling around. Come on, Rollan, why can't you move?!  Essix flew out of the sky, trying to claw at Zerif's eyes.

 "Your stupid bird can't do anything to me. You will be perfect as one of my minions" Zerif said, pulling out a wriggling black parasite from his pocket. As if life flashed before his eyes, everything went dark.

He opened his eyes to Abeke over him, looking down worried at him.

"Rollan! Your okay" she pulled him into a tight hug... but something felt off. When she realeased him, he looked around the room.

"Where is Essix" he started to panick. He couldn't feel her. Then, Abeke looked up at him, her eyes fogged.

"Essix- she's gone. Not dead- taken by Zerif. She saved you" Abeke then explained how he was so scared that he went unconscious.

"How long have I been out?" Rollan asked, rubbing his forehead. With the loss of Essix, it had felt like someone was stabbing him in the heart. Oh Meilin, if only you were here. Every thing would just be so much better. A few months ago Meilin and Conor went out to look at a weird door or something. It was all connected to Kovo. And now... they are trapped, underground. How could Rollan go much longer without Meilin? He felt his face go red, just thinking about her.

"Rollan? You even paying attention?" Abeke's words had brought him back to reality. "I said you were out for about two hours" she sighed then gently touched her arm where Urza lay in dormant state. That's when Rollan actully looked at his surroundings. Rollan took a step out the door. They were on a medium sized boat and the captain was.... SHANE!?
