Ch 1|Quest

Hi minna-san! I'm not use to writing on my iPad anymore ever since I started using my laptop, so bear with me if some of the chapters suck <.<.

Staring at my book, I noticed a little figure at the corner of the page. A little devil with a flute. That picture was on every page and that was the title of the book. A little devil with a flute.

"As The Little Devil, who was blind, plays a flute he found in a shop," I read, "Everyone fell to the ground and went into a deep slumber, never to be woken. As the Little Devil played the flute, he started playing louder and louder, soon everyone in the world heard it and they all fell into the deep slumber. When the Little Devil decided to stop because he was breathless, he realized everyone was dead (he heard no noise), and he was alone in the world. The Little Devil traveled the world for centuries and when he was about to die, he hid the flute where nobody would find it. And that's where the flute has been hidden all these years. But it is stated, that someday, someone will find the flute and bring chaos to the world again. The End."

I glanced at the Devil in the corner with sorrow in my eyes. The Devil was blind, he can't see what he was doing. I felt a pang of sadness in my heart as if I were the Devil himself, sad and lonely. I put the book down and stared out my window.

I saw Arin and Ella at the park chatting with each other. Jill, Emma, and Bella were training, while Storm, Kelsey, and Starla discussed our plans for the week. They were having a 'picnic', that was what Kelsey called it, but I was sure it was more like planning day or something. They invited me to go, yet I declined. I am thinking of making an appearance.

I wore my white jacket and combat boots and walked outside. Arin and Bella immediately waved at me, putting everyone's attention on me. They froze for a second and rushed to me overjoyed to see me outside. You see, it's rare for me to go out, I'm more of an inside girl.

Ever since the incident with Crockus, I've kind of been more on the cautious side. When the fight ended, Crockus was sent to trial and found innocent when I told the Council the story, he decided to travel the world and would come if we ever called him. Christina or Chrissy and Ace fled right when they knew Crockus lost and are currently wanted, but nowhere to be found.

"As I was saying...Katie," Kelsey said in a serious tone breaking me out of my thoughts, "Because of your fake death, we postponed the quest we were supposed to take, the Perilous Peril quest, therefore I want you guys to go complete the quest first thing tomorrow. Only you guys are going, so say your goodbyes."

I glanced at Emma, I knew she had a thing with my brother. She stared at the ground, tears brimmed her eyes. I smiled, my brother and her have been dating for about 2 months after I was saved and ever since then, Emma has been growing more and more soft, but when Storm gets hurt...well lets just say you don't want to be the person that hurt Storm.

Other than those 2 lovebirds, Ella has reunited with Jayce and they are currently really good friends. I ship them. Bella and Josh are also doing well, though I don't think they will be with each other any time soon. Arin, Jill, and I are the only dragons who aren't lovesick, as I call it. Though, I guess I felt a twinge of sadness when I heard Crockus would leave and explore the world or when I knocked Peter out.

We all ran towards Kelsey and hugged her. Starla stood next to her and she looked awfully jealous, I knew she wanted a hug from us, but we ran to Storm next he hugged Emma and I the hardest, since we were the closest. After, we went to Starla and shook her hand.

Things were still awkward between us ever since the betrayal incident. I walked upstairs, Ella following me, she gave up her room for a customer, since we are still running the hotel, she is now living with me, Arin and her aren't as close anymore due to Ella's age. She is maturing and they never have fun like they used to as Arin says, Arin now hangs with Bella. They weren't as sad as the rest of us were when we heard that they weren't the best of friends anymore.

"Alright! I can't believe we are going on another quest. Finally," Ella exclaimed.

I laughed and we collapsed on our beds. She had a blue bed and I had a pink bed. We chatted until midnight.

As I woke up, I realized that today was the day.

"WAKE UP!" I yelled.

Ella groggily sat up and groaned.

"The sun isn't up yet, why am I?" She asked.

The problem with Ella is that she is very cranky when she wakes up. I remember one time, she knocked me out, out of anger on her first day here when I woke her up at 10 AM. I mean seriously, it was already 10!

We both got up and rolled the suitcases down the stairs to the lobby, everyone was waiting for us.

"Hey Katie. Ella." Arin greeted.

We greeted back and waited for Bella. She was always late because she would pack all these gadgets and pretend those were clothes to fool Jill. But the sad thing is that Jill always fell for it.

Bella finally walked down carrying this 10 pound luggage behind her. My draw dropped, this was way more than usual. Jill stared at Bella, sweat dropping down her brow as her eye twitched. She was definitely jealous of Bella and her 'clothes.' All of us stared back and forth, Jill to Bella. We were expecting some shouting, but it never came. Was she that jealous?

"Anyways," Ella started, "Lets catch that train cuz we are late!"
