TW: bad English, bad grammar, first fanfic ever

.

On his birthday George spent the day like any other, wandering around the castle and gardens.

As long as he was within the castle walls, he did not need a guard. He fought long and hard for that compromise.

His favourite place to do nothing was at the old fountain. Most avoided it because of its dirty water and unclean water. Yet it still worked. Because of its water supply, there were many animals around it. A lot of insects, slugs and frogs. Unlike his brothers he was never disgusted by slimy animals.

In the back of his mind, he was tormented by the realization that one day he would have the same responsibilities as his parents. When his dad became the king, he had someone by his side. George had no one. He thought friends and crushes would come naturally but not for him.

There was this one frog though... yes, a frog. He named him Dream, he was the only one with a name in fact. Dream would always greet him the same odd way, by trying to jump on his face. Yet he was never successful and George got used to his antics.

Dream would pay attention to him, just looking up at him from his water lily, George felt someone was listening to him. So, George would talk to his frog. He would tell him about his worries and Dream would seemingly listen.

'Look what I got for my birthday Dream, a crystal ball.' He pulled a ball out of his pocket, no bigger than the frog itself, and brought it closer to Dream. The frog pressed his small hand against the ball which made the prince giggle.

Out of nowhere Dream stuck out his tongue sticking it on the ball and jumped into the fountain water.

'DREAM!!' George was shocked. Dream disappeared into muddy water along with the crystal ball. Not a second later the frog came back to the surface. George looked at him, clearly annoyed. 'I cannot believe this...'

George pulled his sleeves up and put his hand into the water. He was surprised by how deep the fountain was and had to push his hand further. Prince had to kneel at the edge of the fountain, his hand so deep his face was barely above the water.

Right next to his face was Dream, sitting on a water lily. They had never been this close to each other. As Georges eyes focused on Dream, to his horror the frog suddenly jumped and crashed against his lips.

George felt as if someone had punched him in the face. He fell forward into the fountain. Feeling so many sensations at once; water going into his mouth and nose, something big and heavy falling on top of him pushing him to the fountain floor where he felt the ball pressed against his torso.

He did not know how many seconds had passed; everything was moving so fast. His head is spinning. Suddenly he is pulled out of the water.

He was disgusted by the dirty water and scared of getting it into his eyes, but he really wanted to see who was holding him. The person was coughing, still holding the prince bridal style in the middle of the fountain.

He was placed on edge of the fountain, still rubbing his eyes trying to open them. When he finally did, he saw a tall man he didn't recognize, standing knee-deep in the water.

The man leaned down, grabbed his shoulders and almost yelled in his face: 'Thank you so much George! Thank you! I've been under this curse for so long.. I... I'm...' The man looked extremely excited. Letting go of his shoulders, he looked around in the water where he was standing, looking for something.

George was just sitting in shock while the blond man reached down and grabbed the crystal ball out of the water. He immediately handed it to George and the prince took it without a question.

'Umm...Thank you? But may I ask... who the hell are you??'

'I'm Dream! I was that frog and now that you've broke my curse, I'm free. Sorry for jumping on you but I was getting desperate.' George was stunned. He always saw something human behind those big green eyes, but he could never predict this turn of events.

The man sat down next to George. 'Before all of this I was a guard at this castle, you know? I've even met you once, but you probably don't remember.' Damn right he didn't, he would defiantly recognize someone who looked that dreamy.

George was still taking all this in when he heard clanging of heavy metal behind him.
