I leaned forward between the two front seats to scrutinize Azrael. "So, now that we are at least ten miles away from that place, are you going to tell us how you the Jeep came into your possession?"

Kaito signed from the passenger seat. "I would like to know, also."

"I was waiting by the cemetery just like we discussed. Saw some man pulling out with the Jeep. There seemed to be a bunch of people following on horseback and ATVs. Once the Jeep left the cemetery, the others pulled back. So, I decided to follow the Jeep. Wasn't long before they ran into a group of biters. Taking them out was easy enough." Azrael shrugged one shoulder. "I confronted the driver. Told him that he and his woman need to leave the Jeep with me and find another ride. I guess it's a good thing he knew how to handle a motorcycle."

"You left Grayson and his pregnant wife alone with a motorcycle?" I didn't know whether to laugh at the karma or feel guilty.

Azrael gave me a weird look before turning his attention back to the road. "His wife wasn't pregnant. Or if she was, she wasn't showing yet."

"Grayson had told me that his wife was very close to having a baby." I growled out. "Whatever. He deserves whatever karma comes his way for betraying us like that."

Azrael just yawned, already through with the conversation. Kaito's brows were pulled together, seeming to be torn between sympathy and indifference. Beside me in the back seat, Rowan was dozing off. Or maybe he was pretending so he didn't have to join in the conversation. I didn't fault him for wanting some alone time. When we got back maybe Chogan would help him with whatever he was feeling. I just didn't want to be the one to ask Chogan.

I tapped Kaito on the arm and sloppily signed, "When we get back to the others, can you tell Chogan about the blood thing with Rowan and ask him to maybe talk to Rowan about it?"

Kaito cocked his head and frowned. "Yes, I can do that, but can I ask you why you don't just ask Chogan yourself?"

"Because we are having a lover's quarrel. I feel that maybe he would be able to open up to you more than me. Guy to guy type of thing." I signed.

"What about Azrael? You know he was scratched and went through something similar?" Kaito asked, curiously.

"Does Azrael seem to be the type of guy to open up and talk about feelings?" I deadpanned, forgetting to sign.

"I was wondering if the two of you were talking about me or not." Azrael stated, barely giving us a sidelong glance. "But you're right. I don't do feelings."

"We need to work on both of your sign language." Kaito just shook his head.

Rowan napped the whole way back to the campsite. When the Jeep pulled up, we were surrounded by everyone. Carlos ran up and gave me a hug the moment I stepped out of the vehicle, relief shining in his eyes. Ryder was next. I met Chogan's gaze. He gave me a nod before turning away to go back to looking out on top of the bus.

"You really need to fix whatever happened between the two of you." Carlos sighed. "Chogan was really worried you know. Not knowing if you were okay or not."

"I don't think he even slept last night. Not that it's any of my business," Ryder quickly added.

Just then Doc barreled out of the bus. "About time! My paperwork and equipment better still be in there! I told you that it was a bad idea to take off with it! What if the Jeep had been stolen?"

I covered my face with my hand. I was not about to be the one to tell him the Jeep had been taken from us. Not once, but twice. Oh well. I didn't see any harm in leaving out that small detail. I watched as Kaito pulled Chogan to the side before he reached the bus, turning his back to everyone else so they couldn't see his hands. Chogan's eyes grew wide, the color draining from his face. He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck and nodded to whatever Kaito was saying.
