Unexpected

As we walked into Tyler's house his mum came over to us. "Staying tonight are you Maddie?" she asked. Tyler's mum, Amanda, was the sweetest person ever. She was so kind, funny and she was like a teenager in an adults body. "Yeah, if that's ok?" I said as if it was a question. "You don't even need to ask, of course you can stay over," she said and hugged me. I giggled a little and hugged her back. Tyler took my bag from my shoulder before I could stop him, he started to run up the stairs to his room and as he was running he yelled, "MUM, WE WILL BE IN MY ROOM AND WE MIGH GO OUT FOR A BIT TONIGHT, LOVE YOU!" his mum just laughed and looked at me. "Tell Tyler that you guys have to be home by at least 12 tonight because you do have school tomorrow and I think you should catch up to him before he comes back down to try and piggy back you up the stairs," I laughed and nodded. As I was walking up the stairs I hear the TV playing in Tyler's room. Really TV already? After only 5 seconds of being in his room. I chuckled to myself while I though about how weird my best friend was.

When I walked into his room he was lying on his bed and watching a basketball game. Tyler loved basketball and he was pretty good at it as well. I jumped onto the bed next to him and tried to quickly snatch the remote but Tyler moved it before I could take it. "If you wont it then your going to have to do better than that, low poke" he teased as he stuck his tongue out at me, oh god he was such a child. He wanted me to do better then I will do better. I pretended I didn't want the remote anymore as I laid back and put my hands behind my head. He smirked because he thought he had won as he laid back as well. He placed the remote on his chest, stupid, stupid little boy. I snatched the remote, jumped off the bed so he couldn't take it back and changed the channel to Vampire Diaries, the most amazing show on the planet. I poked my tongue at him, he looked at me like I was the devil and that made me laugh.

"You told me to do better so, um I kind of did," I said as I boosted about how I had the remote and he didn't. He got up off of the bed and started to chase me. His room was so big so there was heaps of room to run around and stay out of his reach. I looked back quickly to see him running after me and then he tripped. I couldn't help myself but laugh, I really hope he wasn't hurt but I couldn't stop laughing. "You really are the best friend aren't you," he said sarcastically and rolled his eyes at me. "I'm sorry poor baby are you ok?" I said walking over to him still laughing a little. I bent down to help him up off of the floor but he pulled me down with him and started tickling me. As I always say, I'm not responsible for what happens when someone starts to tickle me. I was wriggling around and kicking the air like a bug stuck on its back. I was laughing uncontrollably and my stomach was starting to tighten. I was so glad he asked me to stay over tonight. I had only been here for 5 minutes and he had already made me feel better.

Tyler stopped tickling me and just looked at me and laughed. I looked at him , he looked so cute when he laughed, he had dimples and his eyes went all Asian. Wait! What? Maddie what the hell are you thinking? Tyler is your best friend! And only a friend! Stop it! I stopped laughing and just looked at him. "What's wrong?" He asked, I guess I looked upset or something. "Nothing, I'm fine, really," I said and smiled at him. I was only half lying. He had made me feel better but I couldn't help but think what was going on at home now that I wasn't there. "Maddie, You really are a horrible liar," he said and looked at me concerned, "Is it about what happened at you house before?" I didn't want to lie to him but I didn't want to ruin the afternoon with my stupid problems so I didn't answer him. I just got up and walked towards the bag I packed. He didn't get up. He just sat there and watched me a I walked. I turned to him "I'm going to go get changed, apparently we are going out tonight, well at least that's what you told your mum and I'm guessing it has something to do with that surprise you said you had for me?"

He looked kind of disappointed that I didn't tell him what was upsetting me but he didn't ask again which I was so thankful for. "Well go on and get changed then, but nothing fancy, trust me on that, " He said as he walked over to his wardrobe. I nodded and walked across the hallway towards the bathroom. As I looked in the mirror, a tear dropped from my eye. My Mum and Brad meant everything to me, why did they have to act like this? I don't blame them I guess, I just wish it would stop. I whipped away the tear and straightened myself out. I changed into a plain singlet and a pair of shorts and my favourite pair of black vans. I put my hair in a pony tail and looked at myself in the mirror again before exiting the bathroom. As I was halfway to Tyler's room my phone started to ring. It was Kellyne. Thanks god.

"Heeeeeeeeeeey!" she said as soon as I answered. I laughed a little "Heey," I replied. "What are you up to?" she asked as if I was doing something I wasn't meant to be. "Nothing, I'm just getting ready to go out. Tyler said he had a surprise for me and then I'm spending the night at his place," I said really excitedly because of the surprise part. "Oh lala." That is Kellyne for you. She though me and Tyler would be the perfect couple and that we were both in love with each other, we just wouldn't admit it. "No Kell, its not like that so keep your little theories to yourself," she laughed because she knew it annoyed me when she did things like that, I found myself laughing a bit as well. "Shouldn't you be going, wouldn't want to be the one to keep you away from Harry," I said and then made kissing noises. "Haha, Very funny miss Tyler lover, but there I something I need to tell you before I go." I wonder what it was. "Knew I was funny," I said sarcastically, "and sure, yeah, what is it?"
