I walk into literature class and get seated next to a friendly looking girl. She looks up at me and her eyes lit up.
"Hey, you must be the new student. I am Vivian, but most people just call me V. I am your local resource of the latest gossips from this school. I don't start them, but I always know what's going on around here." She smiles.
"I'm Iris, nice to meet you." I smile back. Wow, making friends was going very smooth today.
Suddenly she starts whispering to me. "I got to hear that you got involved with Alexa McRiven and Theodore Wilson. Alexa is usually very shy and never befriends anyone and Theodore never talks to someone out of the 'Elite 5'."
I look at her confused and ask what she is talking about.
"Well you have the stereotypical popular people like cheerleaders and the football team, but then you also have the 'Elite 5'. These are Alexa and Evan McRiven, Theodore Wilson, Dean Winters and Marco Amiro. They are like hella rich and talk only with people from within their group. Except now. Alexa McRiven is known to be very shy and her brother is known as very protective over her. He is like the leader of the group. Then you have Theodore Wilson, the smart-ass with a heart cold attitude and Marcus Amiro, who slept with the whole cheerleading team and ditched them all. Dean winters is a bit of a background figure. Also the most mysterious." She takes a small break to gasp for air. "I don't know why they got interested in you, but please be carefull."
I take everything in what V said. If that boy Evan is so protective over Alexa, the reason he looked at me like I was a piece of garbage is maybe because he doesn't want me to hurt her.
"I don't know why Alexa started talking to me, but she's really nice. I also don't know why Theodore helped me out, but he saved my ass." That's all I can say about it.
"You were the one arriving on that motorcycle right?" V asks me and I nod. "Maybe that gave them the idea that you guys maybe have something in common. Like, the motorcycle fits the notorious 'You can do nothing to me' attitude." She laughs.
"Always been kinda that way." I admit grinning, making her smile.
"See, I was right. Well, you don't have a choice anymore. You are now my new friend."
With V, literature went over really fast. I answered all her questions; do I have a boyfriend, why did I move away, what are my hobbies, What is my favourite colour, book, ice cream...
I got to know that she is quiet popular in this school. She knows all the latest gossip and wants to become a journalist.
Her worst enemy is Ashley Moore, head cheerleader and her boyfriend Jason Marshal, captain of the football team. Jason and V used to date, but he cheated on her with Ashley. "He is an asshole and I was just a blind child." Is what she said.
soon Literature class was over and I went to lunch with V. Once seated with our food we started talking about everything and nothing.
Suddenly the whole cafeteria went quiet and th 'Elite 5' entered the room. Everyone looked up at them and with only one glance from Evan, everyone continued with talking. I still looked at them and caught Alexa's eyes. She smiled and waved, making me wave back. Some people around us looked at me curiously, while V her mouth fell open.
"You weren't even kidding me." Is all she says, still speechless.
I look out of the corner of my eye at the table where the 'Elite 5' are sitting. One of the two boys I didn't get to meet yet said something making the others laugh. He had blonde hair and hazel eyes. The other boy has dark brown hair, almost black, dark brown eyes and a bronzed skin. He's a southern type, maybe Spanish. He msut be Marcus Amiro and the blonde boy must be Dean Winters.
They were all laughing at the joke Dean made, except for Theodore, who looked straight at me, lost deeply in his thoughts. He was trying to figure me out, to read me. To bad I'm very good at it. He doesn't notice I was looking at him trough the corner of my eye, trying to figure out what he thinks about me. Suddenly he looks away and says something to the others, what makes them death serious. I can't hear their conversations, but I can see Alexa becoming really upset. She storms out of the cafeteria, when Evan looks at me, not noticing I was still looking at them.
"Earth to Iris. Wow did you even hear one singel thing that I told you?" I nod apologitically my head, making her sigh. Before she can say something, someone interrupts her.
"Iris, can you come with me for a second." A soft and calm voice asks me. I look up at the speaker only to be greeted by a pair of hazel eyes.
"Why?" I ask.
"Just come." He forces me.
I nod, rolling my eyes and follow him outside the cafeteria. Once further away into the hallways, he stops and turns around to me.
"I have a question for you." I nod, indicating him to continue. "Why did you get seated next to Alexa, during the first period?" He asks me, the soft tone from earlier completely dissapeared and his hazel eyes cold.
I look at him weirdly. "Because she looked nice and I thought I would make a new friend that way. Why?" My answer made him soften a bit.
"It's just that Alexa really likes you. She's really good at knowing people's intentions and the fact she talked to you means a lot. Theo noticed you were keeping an eye on us-" He states.
"How-" But he interupts me. "You were very sneaky, no one noticed except for Theo. He told us that maybe you might be interested for the fame and befriended Alexa with that reason, like any other girl. Alexa said she didn't believe that. Then she ran off. Now are your questions answered, right?" For once I stood there, not knowing what to answer.
Suddenly someone barges in the hallway and I get pushed with full force against the lockers.
