One morning, (M/N) had just got the mail and was going through it while he hummed to himself, when a certain envelope caught his attention. It was addressed to 'Mr. H. Potter' with his address on it. "HARRY!!! HARRY, COME HERE QUICKLY!!!" The adult shouted as he ran around, looking for his nephew. Harry came rushing out of his room, still in his pajamas, crooked glasses, and his dark hair flying in different directions. "What's wrong?! What happened?!" He looked around frantically. Nothing was out of place. "You got a letter! From Hogwarts!!! Open it!!" Harry, still dazed and confused, took the envelope and opened it, extracting two pieces of paper from it. He stared at the first one silently, mouthing the words as he read. Then, a grin broke out on his face and he looked up at his uncle. "I got accepted!!" (M/N) hugged his nephew tightly, proud tears running down his cheeks. "I knew you would!!" "Uncle Bear, you're squeezing too tight!" Harry laughed as he was quickly released, his uncle quickly checking to make sure he was alright.
POV change... again
Since neither of you had an owl, you decided to go to Diagon Alley. You had gone there before with Lily when she had attended Hogwarts, but you two would need someone to open the entrance for you. Luckily, you knew exactly where to go. However, you two would have to wait two more days for you to be off. You went to work at your bakery (that you own), Harry coming along as he usually did. For two days, you both acted went about your usual business while you told your nephew stories you had heard about Hogwarts. Finally, it was time.
You drove Harry to London, telling him to keep his eyes peeled for a tiny, grubby-looking pub called The Leaky Cauldron. Eventually, he pointed it out with a wide grin, proud of himself. "Great job, Harry!" You parked and the two of you got out, going into the pub, which was empty. Immediately upon entering, you made your way over to the bartender, Harry right behind you. "Tom! It's been a while, how've you been?" The older man looked at you with a confused expression until realization and recognition dawned on him. "(M/N)? Is that you?" You nodded, smile never leaving your lips. "Yep! I was just wondering if you could help us get into Diagon Alley, we need to get Harry's things for school." Upon hearing that name, Tom looked down to see your nephew, wearing the exact same smile, looking up at him calmly, as if he'd been there before. "Good Lord, Harry Potter... what an honor." He hurried out from behind the bar, rushed toward Harry and seized his hand, tears in his eyes. "Welcome back, Mr. Potter, welcome back." "Thank you, Mr. Tom. My uncle has told me loads about the Wizarding world, and I can't wait to become a part of it." Harry answered, shaking the old man's hand, still smiling.
After he had collected himself, Tom led the way out into a small, walled courtyard, puffing his chest out with self-importance. He tapped the wall three times, which opened up into an archway. He bowed you both in, you and Harry saying "Thank you!" before leaving him behind. "Come on, Harry, we need to go get some money first, then we'll buy your things. Still got your list?" "Yep!" Harry pulled out the list of supplies he'd need for the year. "Excellent! Now, to Gringotts!" "To Gringotts!" And you both happily raced each other to the snow white building that towered over everything else.
Once you both were inside Gringotts, you made your way to a free goblin. "Morning! We've come to exchange some pounds into wizarding money." You handed him some cash you had took out of your Muggle bank earlier that day and waited as he counted it all out. His eyes widened. "Here you are, sir, 1000 Galleons, 5000 Sickles, and 100000 Knuts." The goblin handed you a large pouch which jingled cheerfully. "Thank you, sir. Let's go, Harry." "Bye, Mr. Goblin!" You both went to get his cauldron first, then other equipment, before heading to get his robes. Once Harry was down getting measured, you paid for the robes and a nice winter cloak. Then you got his wand from Ollivanders, before heading to get his books. Obviously, you got him all his required reading, but got him some others as well. There were books about quidditch, arithmancy, magical creatures, herbology, charms, spells, dark arts, transfiguration, curses, hexes, jinxes, alchemy, potions, divination, runes, healing, wizarding history, and other such things. After all, you wanted Harry to be prepared, now didn't you?
Finally, you went to look for a pet for Harry. In the end, you got a beautiful snake (above) that immediately wrapped itself around Harry, and a snowy owl, which was sent off to deliver a letter to Hogwarts. Their names? Hedwig the owl and Salazar the snake.
