Okay, let's start with this: I wanted to go to the casual, community high school, but no! Mom had to have me go to the exclusive and far from home, Disworks Boarding Highschool! And mom only let me take 15 arrows and only ONE of my bows! "It's a once in a lifetime chance, Merida!" "It's the Disworks Boarding School!" "You'll have so much fun!" Bleh- I dont want this chance, don't need it, and certainly don't like it. At least I can hide away in my dorm as much as possible today and mope. I've got a couple days until school starts, and luckily that leaves me some time to just relax. Unlike most girls, I don't care about boys unless they are interested in archery, the outdoors, and not girl crazy. If when I hang out with them and they're constantly talking about a girl, then no. That friendship isn't gonna work out. See, with my friends back home, Tanya and Derek, we were always outdoors doing something athletic and adventurous. I hope I find some friends here like that.

As I walk into the big building through it's grand doors, I notice a very.... Spunky redhead and braun blond guy joking around as they make their way to the door. They seem nice. Once I get through the doors, I jog up to go he horseshoe-shaped desk in the middle of the room and talk to the elderly lady at the counter. "Hello, Ma'am, I need my paperwork?", I said. "Yes, name please?" "First and last?", I asked as she nodded her head. "Merida of Dunbroch," I answered. In Scotland, we didn't have last names, that's just how it is. We use our kingdom's name as a substitute. "Ok, here it is," she said as she handed me my papers, "Counselors will come around at four. Curfew is 9:30, lights off by 10:15." As I start walking to room 153, I notice that the room is like a sea of colors, while I'm in dark red and gray. Usual. My untamed hair is just a little brighter in color than my old archery camp shirt that I'm wearing. Everybody asks if my very unusually curly hair is natural, and they're all shocked when I tell them its natural and some how even worse in the mornings. Aha, room 153, here it is! I turn the gold knob on the light brown door, expecting some annoying girly girl to pop up when I open the door saying "Hey, Roomie!!!", while I decide whether to punch her or run to the desk in the lobby and ask to be transferred to another room. Instead, I found a nice room with two twin size beds with a wood nightstand next to each. Apparently, my roommate hadn't arrived yet. Cool, I get first pick on a bed! The room had cream colored carpet, and a light shade of red on the walls. There was a window on the right side of the room next to a bed. I walked over to the bed that wasn't beside the big bay window. As I almost slung the heavy duffel bag that had been on my shoulder the whole time down on to my bed, I noticed that I heard footsteps in the hallway. It could be my roommate. I hope she's nice and not annoying. That would be good considering we'll be living together for a year. Hearing someone start fidgeting with the door knob on the other side of the door, I think yep, that's her. "Oh, hi! You're here already," she says as she enters the room. Turning around, I see a tall, thin girl with beautiful platinum blonde hair. She has an icy blue t-shirt tucked in to a purple skater skirt on with blue Keds. "Nice room, huh?" I say as she gazes around our new dorm room. "Yeah. Sure is," she replied, "Anyway, I'm Elsa! So I guess we're dormates!", Elsa said. She doesn't seem annoying. Yet. "Yeah, guess so! I'm Merida, nice to meet ya'!", I answered. "I hope you don't mind I took that bed," I said while pointing to my bed. "Oh, yeah, that's fine! I like the window beds. The morning sun always feeling nice." "Good! So, whats some thing about you?", I asked, trying to get to know my roomate. "Um, I have a sister that's a year and six months younger than me. Her name's Anna, and, actually, she's right down the hall! We're really close." "That's cool! I'm from Scotland and have 3 triplet brothers back there. Feels good to get away from them!", I said, and we both giggled. We just talked for a while, then started unpacking. I like Elsa, she seems nice. I can tell we'll be good friends.
