Chapter 4: Nagisa and Rei

"Rei-chan."
"No."
"Pleeease?"
"I've made up my mind."
Rei and Nagisa stood outside their school gates at an ice cream truck, a distressed blonde begins his friend for a frozen treat.
Both boys met at Rei's house in the morning, and walked to school from there. Unluckily enough for the blue haired boy, Nagisa spotted a nice cream truck coming and immediately started the begging process.
"Rei-chan." The smaller boy moved closer to his friend and gave his best puppy-eyes.
"I suppose just this once."
Nagisa grinned big at his ability to convince Rei into paying for an ice cream of choice.

As they walked back towards the school yard, they talked about how they wouldn't be near each other, since they were on opposite sides of the third floor. They agreed, despite the distance between their rooms, that they would visit each other every night before 10 p.m.

As they came to the door of Rei's dorm, they heard a crash coming from a few rooms over. Nagisa leaned over sideways to hear better before he saw a small teen with some sort of eyepatch walking their way. He noticed Rei had already walked inside his room and hesitated slightly before following him inside and shutting the door behind him.
"Hey, Rei-chan?"
"What is it?"
"Don't you think there are some pretty weird kids at this school? I saw someone with pink hair, a freakishly small man, and a boy that looked like a pirate."
"I wouldn't be too surprised, considering that I have blue hair and Makoto has green hair. As well as the fact that Nanase-kun likes water a bit too much and probably would've noticed the pond in the front of the school."

After a while of discussing hair color and Haruka Nanase's odd habits, the two decided to go for a walk around the campus of Yakizawa Academy.
