Every woman dreams of embodying beauty, becoming a bride, a mother, a cherished daughter, and a best friend to someone special. Yet, for some, these aspirations remain unfulfilled, or worse, deceptive. Ji Hye's lifelong dream was to walk down the aisle as a radiant bride, with the perfect man by her side as her loving husband. Since childhood, she had held her best friend dear to her heart, envisioning a future where they would be united in matrimony.

As time marched on, everything evolved, including the individuals we once held close. The person Ji Hye had cherished for so long had transformed into someone unrecognizable, a far cry from the person she fondly remembered. Despite his altered demeanor, her feelings for him continued to blossom, unwavering in the face of his changed ways.

Ji Hye's ultimate dream was realized when she married him four years ago on a radiant day in Seoul. She was filled with joy as she exchanged vows, but sadly, her happiness did not seem to be reciprocated by her spouse. Despite her efforts to bridge the gap between them, she couldn't shake the feeling that he remained distant. Even after four years of marriage, his demeanor towards her had not shifted, leaving her yearning for the connection she had hoped for.

"Ji Hye!!! How are you, darling!?" Il Hwa exclaimed, greeting her daughter-in-law warmly. Startled, Ji Hye looked up from tending to her roses in the garden to see her mother-in-law happily waving at her from inside the house.

"Oh my... Mrs. Jung, how are you?" Ji Hye replied with a surprised smile on her face, and she hurriedly made her way to the house to greet her mother-in-law. Il Hwa was thrilled at the prospect of having brunch with Ji Hye, as she considered her to be like the daughter she never had.

"I'm thrilled to see you too! By the way, my mother asked me to apologize for missing today's brunch. She had something important to attend to, so it'll just be the two of us," Ji Hye said, embracing Il Hwa warmly.

"Oh, it's fine...I understand," Il Hwa responded, smiling warmly at Ji Hye. However, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. Up close, Ji Hye's expression appeared somewhat vacant, as if she carried a burden of unhappiness within her.

"My dear, is everything alright?" Il Hwa inquired with concern, noticing Ji Hye's somber demeanor. Ji Hye, aware that her mother-in-law had picked up on her inner turmoil, tried her best to maintain a facade of normalcy, though in reality, she was grappling with inner suffering.

"Oh, it's nothing... Let's go to the table and eat, shall we?" Ji Hye deflected, attempting to steer the conversation away from her inner turmoil. Il Hwa followed Ji Hye to the garden area and took a seat across from her at the table. The maids promptly arrived, serving a spread of dishes on the table.

"It looks delicious, my dear! Did you make all of this?" Il Hwa asked in awe of the food spread before her.

"Well, yes, I cooked all morning just for you!" Ji Hye replied with a wide smile on her face.
