A month had passed since Haein crossed paths with Jisoo at the festival, but instead of moving on from his sorrows, he had fallen into a dangerous cycle. His coping mechanism had taken a turn for the worse as he found solace in alcohol, drinking more than he ever had before. Kang Woo noticed the change in Haein and grew increasingly concerned for his well-being. He made multiple attempts to reach out and discuss Haein's unhealthy behavior, but Haein's stubbornness prevented him from truly hearing Kang Woo's words.
Ji Hye couldn't ignore Haein's increasingly erratic behavior any longer, leading to frequent arguments between the couple. Haein's avoidance tactics escalated as he began coming home late at night after drinking, hoping to evade any confrontation with Ji Hye. He even resorted to sleeping in a separate room to distance himself from her. Ji Hye grew weary of Haein's constant rejection and decided to take a different approach. She stopped pretending to be the dutiful wife and instead confided in Haein's father, revealing the troubling truth about his son's behavior.
Kyung Young was enraged when he learned about his son's reckless behavior, especially since Haein's work performance was also suffering. Taking matters into his own hands, he had a stern conversation with Haein about the need for change. Haein, realizing the gravity of the situation, complied with his father's demands and began to straighten up his act.
However, he knew he needed a healthier way to deal with the pain of his heartbreak. A sudden realization struck him, prompting him to reach out to Kang Woo to put his plan into action.
"Kang woo!! Did you do what I asked you to do today??" Haein asked.
"Indeed...but I can't help feeling that you're making a grave error by doing this to Jisoo!!!" Kang woo exclaimed, his voice tinged with concern. Haein gazed at Kang woo's troubled expression and responded with a gentle smile..
"I don't care anymore!! I will have her back, no matter what it takes!! I'll make sure she's mine again, even if I have to force her to stay by my side!" Haein declared with a determined glare. Kang woo disapproved of Haein's words and continued to gaze at him, shaking his head in disagreement.
"You're only making things harder for yourself, Haein!! Just look at yourself! You sound like a madman talking like that!!" Kang woo exclaimed.
"Kang woo...I didn't ask for your opinion!!! I'm doing this because.....I'm losing my mind every single night, thinking about the possibility of her being with someone else!! I simply cannot bear the thought of losing her!!!" Haein exclaimed, pushing his chair back with force. He then strode towards the expansive window in his office.
"But!! Trying to force her into being with you won't win back her love!! And don't forget, you're married now, Haein!!! Do you expect her to be your mistress?....you know her, you know she wouldn't go along with that!!" Kang woo retorted. Haein let out a deep sigh and rubbed his forehead as he pondered Kang woo's words for a moment.
"I may be married on paper for convenience, a mere contract between my family and Ji Hye's family. But in truth, we are nothing. So I will pursue Jisoo once more, even if it means my father wants to disown me this time...I don't care!!" Haein declared, his gaze fixed on the view outside his office.
"Haein??" Kang woo called out, but Haein was already set on winning Jisoo back at any price. With no response from Haein, Kang woo knew he had to comply with his wishes. He let out a sigh and briskly exited Haein's office.
"You will be mine again!!! Whether you like it or not. You will," Haein mumbled under his breath, clenching his fists tightly.
