Spying on the new kid, Katyana tiptoed closer, concealed only by an old oak tree to get a better look at the boy. As a lover of heart touching romance, Katyana began to imagine every single scenario of how her and her soon to be Prince Charming would meet. She glared longingly at the boy's tousled hair until she was snapped out of her daze when he began to wave his hand in an awkward side to side motion, realizing that she'd been watching him. He open up his mouth then closed it, unaware of what to say to the sneaky girl called his neighbor.
Finally, the boy smiled and shouted in an Irish mixed with American accent that Katyana couldn't get enough of, "It seems you've taken a liking in that tree over there you keep hiding behind. I'm Hayden by the way, Hayden Tompkins. As you can see, I just moved here and don't know much about the neighborhood. You wouldn't mind showing me around, would you?"
You'd expect Katyana to say, "No, not at all. Follow me.", right away, but instead she yelled, "Yes, I do actually. Well, it's more my parents that do. Anyway, I got to go."
"What's the rush? I don't even know your name."
"It's Katyana Davison," said Katyana, "and my parents have a thing about...well...nevermind...I've got to get going."
"Will I see you around Katyana?", asked Hayden. The way he pronounced her name giving extra emphasis to the A's made her heart skip a beat.
Katyana thought about this. Would he see her around or would her parents keep her stashed away in her room like a prisoner locked inside a dungeon, never to see the light of day again, when they found out that a handsome boy around her age lived next door? After pondering this, she settled on saying, "We're neighbors. Of course you'll see me around."
