My emotions get the best of me
Whether sadness or happiness
I'm always flipping between them
But in recent time, all I've felt is dark
My heart numb and my purpose gone
Those I've loved taken and ripped away
By fate or luck or what have you
I met you and life stopped for once
Stopped in a way I needed
You accept my flaws, cracks, and quirks
You are my blessing I never knew I needed
You brought warmth and light to the cold and dark place
You let me exist as me and showed me compassion
I'll never not love you for that
Sadly it will one day end but for now let's pretend
Let's pretend this won't end and that you'll still care for me in the end
But truth be told the end will come when you're done with me
It fills my heart with pain, but I'm okay
You are the blessing I never knew I needed
Soon enough this thought will be fleeting
The days will go on and so will the months
You'll grow tired of me
Promise me you won't regret what was between us
When you leave, do so as when you came
Unexpected
You are my blessing and I am grateful for you
