Euphoria.
That's what I'm feeling right now as I watched Rindo twirl around the tree of cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms have been quietly opened, and the sun is so hot that it is extremely beautiful. The green foliage, with the morning dew, shines in the sun's loving light. The fragrant cherry forest is full of sweet smell. From a distance, it is as dazzling as a cloud, and from time to time, a butterfly is circled around the flowers.
A breeze blows, the beautiful and delicate petals gently fall down, as if the pink snowflakes fluttering across our faces, it is very pleasant.
"Look at the cherry blossoms, Haru!" Rin giggles as he scooped a bunch of petals in his arms. Spring is here. And the branches of the cherry tree are covered with a layer of colorful color.
I looked at my left when a I heard a sigh. I saw Ran looking up at the white sky, very pure that it can be described as innocent.
"Spring is here...and you're not here again." He mumbles. Rin stopped whatever he's doing and approached us.
"He's sulking." I said while looking at Rindo's worried face. And just like that, a breeze blows, the petals are like tears in the rain, falling down sadly and sadly.
"Rin, would you like to go to that cafe nearby?" I asked Rin. Time passes by fast and memories from the past carried the loneliness. Five years had passed, our relationship is getting stronger. But, none of us have the courage to brought up marriage. I really want to marry him. But, with Ran's situation I can't bring it up because I know how much Rin cares about his older brother.
I'm getting along with my siblings well too. I stopped taking drugs, I minimize killing people, and mainly because Mikey is slowly losing interest in whatever we are doing. Cops aren't after us for months now and I can't help but notice the changes of our lives.
"Sure! Wanna come?" He asks Ran who shakes his head. We both nodded before going out of the cherry forest.
"Holy- Is that?!" Rin covered my mouth and pulled me out of the entrance of the cafe. We saw Reine! I knew it was her!
"Shut up, Haru. First, don't scare her. She might run away again." He whispered while pinning me against the wall of the cafe, our faces were so close and I can't help but smirk. "Second, go tell-Mm!" I stole a kiss while he's talking.
"Got it, sweetie." I winked at him as he stood still, staring at me with wide eyes. "I'll see you later. Take care!" I kissed his forehead before turning away, walking towards the cherry forest again with a grin on my lips.
I shook my head as Rin's image flashed in my mind again. His flustered face and soft lips made me go crazy.
"Ew, you're so in love." Koko rolled his eyes. He's laying down on the bed of cherry blossom petals.
"And you're not?" I lightly kicked his leg before looking around. "Where's Haitani number 1?" I asked.
"Went back to Tokyo, what else? Kaku called and said there's an emergency." He explained.
"Reine's working on that cafe nearby." I said, looking directly to his cat-like eyes.
"That's good! It's been so long since I saw my best friend." Koko stood up and removed the petals still place on his slacks.
My brows furrowed after hearing what he said. Best friend? "I thought Inupi is your best friend?" I laughed while looking at his mortified face.
"Shut up, Sanzu. Let's go find her apartment." He says before walking out of the cherry forest, his hands shove inside his pockets.
To: My sweet Rin
We're inside Reine's apartment. How's it going?
I bit my lower lip when I saw his nickname on my contacts. Well, Koko have already said that I'm a 'sap'.
He immediately replied.
From: My Sweet Rin
She's feisty, lol. I'm coming. Send location, bby. <3
I laughed after seeing his response. Koko looked at me before continuing to raid Reine's kitchen. It was just a small apartment for one person.
I sent the location to Rin as I tried to call Ran to tell him the news. He picked up after five rings. And he only instructed us to bring Reine to Roppongi again.
And we're surprised how much Reine changed. Although, she's honest on what she's feeling. Her kindness remains. But, still the pain from the past has a huge impact on her.
"Hey, what are your thoughts of marriage?" I asked her as she cooked breakfast for us. Koko and Rin is still sleeping on the living room. I didn't sleep well because I can't stop thinking about Rin and I's marriage.
"Are you getting married?" She asks, turning to look at me with a ladle on her hand.
"Well, I...yes." I scratched my neck, a little embarrassed. "You could say that." I looked away when she smiled softly.
"Well, marriage is ideally to share a whole life together with your love one. Even if in many cases it doesn't happen that way." Her voice breaks. "In my case, I think it has been nothing like I've ever imagined. It's not perfect. Because in marriage you share everything, material things, feelings, ideas, and need to support each other." She says before turning off the stove. She put down the ladle and gestures me to taste the chicken soup she made.
I took the ladle as she gave me space. She even gave me a bowl and a spoon. I scooped a good amount of soup before putting it on the bowl. "It tastes good." I commented after I took a sip on the soup she made.
She nodded, smiling softly. Everything about her is soft. "Marriage has the potential to be a lot of things, Haruchiyo. It can be challenging and in my opinion, it would completely change your life."
And, in my opinion, marriage is a thousand little things. It's giving up your right to be right in the heat of an argument. It's forgiving another when they let you down. It's loving someone enough to step down so they can shine. It's friendship. It's being a cheerleader and trusted confidant. It's a place of forgiveness that welcomes one home and arms they can run to in the midst of a storm.
I'm sure my younger self would be laughing at me right now. Imagine, Sanzu Haruchiyo is getting problematic about marriage.
But, when I thought about how Rin saw my worst and he stayed. I just wanted to give him everything I've ever had.
