everyone looks at me "ill go with you" reidy says grabbing his jacket and putting it on. he grabbed his walkie since I didnt have mine and we walked out into the pouring rain towards the pavilion to one of the restaurants
I walk in with reidy behind me
"y/n" the dude behind the counter says "bruce" I laugh "can I get some chicken pasta please and a sweat tea"I say placing my order
"would you like anything?" I ask looking at reidy
"yea let me get a beef and a chicken taco" he ordered.
"also can I get that chocolate cake right there" I ask "yes ma'am" bruce says
I payed and we waited
we grabbed our food and the cake and headed back in the rain to the tower.
we walked in the door with our hands full. I layed the cake down on the counter along with my food.
"I got us a cake boys" I say
I take my food out and sit down In a car and begin to eat
hoppo cuts into the cake and they all grab a piece
Jesse comes and sits beside me along with Harrison and maxi
"I wanna bite" Jesse laughs.
I grab him a bite and feed it to him
"you've had it before I brought it to you one day before" I laugh
"yea I know I just wanted a bite" he says eating his cake now.
"alright love birds" chappo says as everyone was watching us.
my face was bright red and hot.
"anyways who do you think is gonna win the ironman tonight?" beardy ask "my votes on y/n she's one of our best swimmers" deano says.
"I vote Jesse" chappo says.
"oh wow ok. I vote for reidy" I laugh "im gonna have to vote myself. im pretty great" maxi says.
"im gonna vote myself but like y/n is my second choice as long as she doesn't lose her board like she did last time" I bust out laughing remembering when I was trying to catch a wave and being knocked off my board. I didn't get last but I definitely didn't get first
we all argue but we were just having fun.

the rain started to stop as it got closer to 6
it was still really windy out and there was some big waves out.
we were gonna start the race at 7
kerrbox went home and so did a few others to grab some things
the iron man challenge starts off with a 3k run followed by a 1k swim and then a 1k paddle back to bondi and I just know its gonna be rough today because of the storm that just came in
hoppo walked out of the tower "it looks a bit sharky out there" he says.
I walk out of the tower and I take the rhino with the equipment on it.
I wait for Harrison to join me and we ride down the beach to make sure all of the equipment is picked up.
we pulled up the flags and I backed the trailer into the tunnel
I remember when I first started they picked on me because I couldn't do it.
so kerrbox bet me some money and lets just say i got that $20 from kerrbox
I walk out of the tunnel and back into the tower.
I sat on the counter where Jesse was standing
I pulled him in front of me so I could rest my weight on him. he was talking to maxi and whippet as we waited for everyone to return back to the tower
I braided my hair that was somewhat dry but not entirely
I braided it into 2 French braids so it wouldn't get in my way during the race.
kerrbox walked in dressed like a chicken meaning he could go first because the ones that dress up get to go first in the race.
I pulled my tennis shoes on my feet and we all met on the pavilion
they let the first team go then the next and then finally the third group I was in.
deano said go and we were off on our run

I was in 5th place as I hit the water for the swim part. this is my strong spot though so I hope to make up some time Jesse was close behind me
it was starting to get dark

I hit the sand to grab my rescue board and then ran back into the water
I was now in second place but this is where I hit the big waves so this could slow me down or help me

I could see the shore now. I paddled with Jesse on my tail
I was in 3rd place now because I was passed by whippet
the first person hit the sand
it was scotty.
then whippet
then I finally cross the finish line.
Jesse was right behind me fighting for 4th with maxi but Jesse crossed the line first.
I smile at whippet as he gives me a high-five
I look over to Jesse and he hugs me "told you id beat you" I say out of breathe.
I high-fived maxi and then Harrison and jethro ran up.
then chappo ran up with reidy behind him
"I can taste the beer now" chappo laughs.
after the race we all put our boards away.
I walk into the tower and start sweeping all the sand out and cleaning up before leaving because that was my job to do before I left.
everyone grabbed there things and so did I and we all headed our separate ways.
"hey y/n wait up" I heard Jesse say catching up to me
I turn and wait for him as he catches up
"so about that dinner?" he laughs "face it pretty boy you lost" I smile
"so" he mumbles
"even though I did lose do you think that maybe I could take you out one night?" he stutters a little nervously
we were at my front door "id like that" I smile "really?" he asked surprised. "yea" I smile feeling my face heat up.
"so what do you say tomorrow night? 8pm?" he ask "sounds good to me" I say "goodnight Jesse" I say kissing his cheek and walking in my house and shutting the door behind me.
"finally he asked me out" I smile to myself.
I take a quick shower and then head to bed for my long day tomorrow
