Yunho could tell when he needed attention. He would be more clingy than usual, he'd subtly beg for compliments, and he'd be whiny and mopey and even angry.

But it usually ended up with him getting really, really sad. Depressed, even. He hated it. He hated himself when this happened. He felt disgusting.

Yunho tended not to tell his partners when he felt like this. Woo had been having a tough time with his abusive family lately, San hadn't been around because his depression made him sleep all day, and Mingi was so busy taking care of everyone that Yunho felt too guilty to ask for attention.

I mean, Yunho was dating all of them, but they weren't dating each other. Wooyoung and San were siblings, and Mingi was monogamous. They were Yunho's responsibility, his to watch after.

Yunho felt that as the most stable, he should be the strong one. He hated being weak in front of others. It felt like failure.

It was 10:30ish at night, and they didn't have school the next day. So Yunho could stay up as late as he wanted. And he intended on staying up until he passed out from exhaustion.

Mingi went to sleep. He had a long day and was rather tired. San and Wooyoung were at their house, listening to their death metal and taking turns texting Yunho.

Oh yeah, did I mention Wooyoung and San are the same person? Confusing, I know.

Well, while the author projects fae's relationship onto WooSanYunGi, they might as well explain Avery and Ariana.

There is a disorder certain people have called OSDD- otherwise known as Otherwise Specified Identity Disorder. This is caused by (severe) childhood trauma. It happens where the child cannot handle the trauma they are forced to carry and their consciousness fractures, creating new people. That's right, multiple people live in the same body.

I met Avery first. She's the "system host," which means she's the main fronter.

Front? What does that mean? When an alter is fronting, they are controlling the body, and their emotions and thoughts are the strongest in the forefront of the mind's awareness.

Alter? Alter is the term for the different people in the system. Plural is also used.

I met and started dating Avery 3 months before I met Ariana. Remember that thing about severe trauma causing OSDD? Well, Avery has... too many problems to name. She's transgender in a -phobic household, which tells you most of the stuff you need to know about it's trauma.

Well Ariana started fronting more often and we met and eventually, started dating. So they take turns fronting, or they co-front. Which is basically they're both accessing the body and taking turns with controlling the body parts, but both making memories.

Each alter only has access to their own memories or core memories shared by the system. Overall, there are 7 individual systems within the body, adding up to about 200 people. I've met around 10.

Well what do they do while they aren't fronting? They exist in headspace.

Many individuals with otherwise specified identity disorder (OSDD) have an internal world in which they or their alters can manifest as themselves and interact. This is what headspace is.
