"Ew." I say as I look at the picture. "Yeah." Caroline says. "Ok. So, what are we doing?" I ask interested. "Southern Classic Elegance." Caroline says with a smile. "Gone with the wind?" I ask but already know. "How did you know?" Caroline asks.
"You channel Scarlett daily." I say. "Yeah. So true." Caroline says laughing. "Uhh. Where's Elena? She's supposed to be helping." Caroline says. "I don't know." I say. "Ok, what's the deal?" Caroline asks. ''What do you mean?" I ask.
"Don't play dumb. You and Elena are fighting. Spill." Caroline says. "Its nothing." I say. "Its not nothing. You know, this whole float is supposed to be about friends creating something together,and everyone is fighting. Matt and Tyler hate each other. You and Elena are on the outs. I-- I don't like it." Caroline says sighing.
I shrug. "And I can't fix it if I don't know what's wrong." Caroline says. "I can't talk about it, Caroline. I'm sorry." I say with an sad look.
I go to the grill but stop once I see Elena. I then was about to go hug her but I see Stefan behind her and I just leave.

I go to Elena house and knock. "Hi." Elena says as she opens the door. "Hey. I couldn't sleep last night. You were obviously upset about something, and I just walked away. That's not me. That can't be us. Your my friend, Elena. If you need me, I'm here for you. And I'm sorry I couldn't show you that yesterday." I say. "I met my birth mother." Elena says. "Oh. Was it..." I say. She nods. "Are you ok?" I ask her. She nods and shrugs no. I go and hug her and she crys.
At school in a classroom
"Hey. Thanks for meeting me. I wanted you to see this." I say to Elena. "Is that Emily's spell book?" Elena asks. I nod. "I've been going through it since Grams died. Check this out." I say not telling her that I got it from my Aunt who is still teaching me. "Thats the vampire compass." Elena says looking at the book.
"Yeah. According to Emily, Jonathan Gilbert never actually succeeded in inventing anything. Emily secretly spelled them all with magic-- compass... rings... and the mystery device you told me about." I say showing her. "Yeah. Thats it. Well, part of it. Damon only has the one piece." Elena says.
"Emily pledged her loyalty to Katherine. But she couldn't stand by and watch innocent people get killed. This was the only way she could think of to help-- to let Jonathan Gilbert believe he'd actually invented these devices." I say.
"Does it say what it does?" Elena asks. "Are you sure this is what Isobel wants?'' I ask. "Yeah, I'm sure. Why?" Elena says. "This is a weapon... against vampires." I say.
"Where's the device?" I ask. "Damon has it. He's going to be difficult to reason with." Stefan says. "Then we'll-- we'll go to him, I'll talk to him." Elena says. "He's not just gonna hand it over, especially if its harmful to vampires." Stefan says. Elena then looks at me. "What if its not?" Elena says/asks.
A
t the Salvatore house
"Absolutely not." Damon says. "Just hear me out. I'm not gonna give the device to Isobel so she can give it John who's gonna turn around and kill me. I like being a living dead person." Damon says. "But it'll be useless. Bonnie can take its power away." Elena says.
"I don't trust her." Damon says agitated. "I can remove the original spell." I say but don't say that I will. "John and Isobel will never know." Elena says. "No. No, I'll get Jeremy my own way. Mm-mm." Damon says. "How are you going to do that? Hmm? Because Isobelis a vampire, and Jeremy can be dead the second you walk in the door." Stefan says. "Are you even up for this? I mean, no offense. You're no Emily Bennet. Emily knew what she was doing." Damon says.
"I've been practicing. I've had help from someone very close to me." I say. "Its not piano lessons, honey." Damon says. "I know. I had practice from my Aunt on that too but that is to hard. But anyway... What's your favorite book?" I say. "What Aunt? What?" Damon asks.
"Name a book, any book. And who my Aunt is, is none of your business." I say slightly mad and disappointed and aggravated that I told him that my Aunt helped me.
"How about... 'Call of the wild', Jack London?" Damon says smirking. I walk over to the book case and use my powers for the book. The book flys into Damon's hand. "Jack London. Great parlor trick." Damon says. "We're doing this, Damon. And we're going to do it my way. Now, give me the device. We're wasting time." Elena says.
"I don't trust you. I tried to kill you." Damon says still not giving up. "Hmm. You're right. You can't trust me." I say. "But you can trust me." Elena says putting the attention back on her.
Damon gives her the device. "Thank you." Elena says. I levitate the device and it floats and make the fire and lights click off. "Down." I say. "Great. Now what?" Damon says.
"Now we give it to Isobel." Elena says holding the tiny piece in her hand.
Mystic Grill
"I did something bad, Caroline. And I lied about it." I say. "To who?" Caroline asks. "To Elena. I pretended to do something I didn't really do." I say sadly. "What are you talking about?" Caroline asks.
I couldn't do what she wanted me to do. It wasn't right. Grams would have never done it, so I couldn't either. But when Elena finds out... she's never going to forgive me." I say.
I then head to Aunt AB's. I get in but find she's already sleeping.
