You laugh loudly, slapping your hand on the small cafe table as the person in front of you tells a comedic story.
"...And then the girlfriend walks up, screaming her head off, and my friend doesnt know what to do!"
"No!" You exclaim.
"He was just standing there...You should've seen his reaction!" Wooyoung finishes, laughing alongside you.
"I don't know what I would've done." You say, wiping a tear from your eye.
"Same! Imagine the awkwardness."
You quiet down your laughter, taking a sip of coffee. The environment of the cafe is calming, although you're not sure if it's the cafe or simply the person sitting in front of you.
Two weeks have passed since the kissing incident with Wooyoung, and you've been trying to convince yourself that everything is back to normal. You've also been trying to convince yourself that you haven't been completely ignoring Wooyoung since it happened. Although there's always that part of your brain that keeps nagging you and telling you that's not exactly true.
"Are you two ready for the check?" The waitress appears, standing patiently by the side of the table.
"Yes please." Wooyoung says, waving the waitress off for her to retrieve the check, "Oh, hey, a question. Are you still close with that guy, Sunghoon?"
You frown, confused as to where this question came from so suddenly, "Yes... why?"
"Oh, I was just wondering. He contacted me a few days ago."
"What did he say?" You ask, eyebrows raised.
"He was just asking how I was and stuff. And he asked about you."
"About me?"
"About our friendship, technically."
You grit your teeth, bringing your hand up to massage your forehead, "It's probably just Jake asking him to do it." Your mind automatically brings you back to the conversation in the car, to Sunghoon asking multiple interrogative questions. He probably told Jake.
Wooyoung hums thoughtfully, "So what about it then?"
"What about what?" You say, hoping, praying he won't ask.
"About our friendship... what is it exactly?"
There it is. The bomb question. The question you've been dreading the answer to for the past week, and the question you knew it was impossible for Wooyoung not to ask.
"I... I don't know." You answer, choosing your words carefully.
Thankfully, right on time, the waitress makes her appearance again, shoving the check on the table. You swear you could never be this thankful for a waitress in your life. Wooyoung signs it off, giving it back to her with a smile and nod.
"Thank you for coming. Have a good day." The waitress says dryly, completely unaware of your silent gratefulness, and walks off to attend another customer.
Wooyoung and you awkwardly walk to the front of the cafe, standing outside for what feels longer than what its supposed to.
"I-I just think. I think... I think..." You say, struggling to grasp the right words.
Instead of trying to help you, Wooyoung leans in, meeting his lips to yours. For a few seconds you stand there letting him kiss you, your mind in a battle over what to do. Pull away. Kiss him back. Pull away. Kiss him back.
Wooyoung parts softly from your mouth, a small smile playing at his lips, "I like you Y/N." He says, one hand brushing against your cheek, "I want us to be more than friends."
