Sunghoon had called you beautiful.

He had laid in your arms in the moonlight, talking about how you were like a drug; addictive, intoxicating. He had told you how he hates it when you're mad at him, and how he relishes every moment you spend together. He had said about how he thinks you've grown, no longer the broken little girl Jake had always stated you to be. And you believed every word.

Oh, and one more thing. He was drunk.

As you explained this for the tenth time to Sunoo, his eyes almost boggle out of his head.

"Wait wait wait wait.... He called you beautiful??" Sunoo spits out, adjusting his position on your bed so he's holding onto both of your shoulders, staring at your face straight on, "Y/N, do you know what this means?!"

You laugh dryly, gently pushing Sunoo, "Nothing. It means nothing. He was drunk, Sunoo! The morning after, he didn't even remember why he woke up in the guest bedroom."

That was true.

When you woke up at noon the day after the party, Sunghoon's door was still closed. It wasn't until an hour later that he stumbled into the living room, fumbling around for water.

He said he had a bad headache, from the hangover, and asked you why he was sleeping in the guest bedroom. That part almost broke your heart. He didn't remember.

Since then, you haven't brought it up to anyone except for now. But you'd be lying if you said you hadn't thought about it at least twice a day.

"But I'm sure a part of him still remembers!" Sunoo continues, shaking you back into reality, "You always remember something, even if it's blurry or... or... or fragmented!"

You appreciate Sunoo's efforts, you really do, but you're convinced that what happened a week ago is meant to stay untouched. You are content enough with the words Sunghoon said to you that night, and to have at least that sliver of hope is enough.

Sunoo can tell all of what you're thinking from when he looks at your face, and he nods understandingly. "So what now?" He asks.

"College." You answer, lying down on your back and staring up at your ceiling. Sunoo does the same next to you, and you both just stay silent for a few minutes.

"Have you received your acceptance letter yet?" Sunoo asks, tilting his head to look at you.

"Nope, not yet." You respond, "You?"

"Same."

Even though it goes by unspoken, the reality that you both are equally afraid for college is obvious. It's a whole other world, one where you're forced to mature. And for the first time, you're not so sure if you're ready for it.

"Y/N?" Sunoo whispers, as if he's scared to hear his own voice, "What if I don't fit in?"

You turn to your side, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder, "Sunoo. You are one of the most outgoing, nicest, and funnest people I have ever met. I can almost promise you that once you show up in college, everyone is going to be dying to be your friend. Just watch."

He smiles brightly at your words, taking you into a tight hug, "Thanks, Y/N. I swear, if the sky starts falling it won't be anywhere as bad as long as you're here!"

You hug him back, once again thankful you have a best friend as wonderful as Sunoo.

A loud knock sounds at your door, and Sunghoon peeks in, his eyes widening at seeing you and Sunoo hugging so passionately on your bed. Your eyes widen in return, noticing this probably looks a lot different than it is.
