I was working at Pops when a beaten up Jughead came in accompanied by Toni who I recognized from the whyte wyrm. She looked me over, obviously recognizing me as well but keeping quiet. They sat down, eating breakfast together as they chatted. It seemed like the two were close. I was surprised to not see Betty but then again, with the last time I'd seen them, I wasn't.

Jughead came up to pay while Toni walked outside. "Jughead, what happened?"

"Just a friendly thing, I'm okay." He smiled softly.

I looked over his jacket, a serpent jacket. "A serpent thing?" I whispered.

He looked up through his brows. "Yeah."

I nodded, not understanding but I wouldn't push. "Call me if you need anything. I know things are tough and..." I paused, thinking before I spoke. "I know your dad fairly well so, you know." I shrugged.

He tilted his head slightly. "Alright." He pulled out his phone number. "What's your number?"

I told him my number, watching him put it into his phone before he left.

My mom went on as normal until Archie and Jughead came in not long after. I knew they should be in school. They took a seat, not ordering any food as they talked. It seemed to be a heated conversation and only growing when Jughead jumped from his booth.

"Calm down? Archie, Riverdale just became a police state."

Everyone shot glances at the table.

"McCoy's convinced the Serpents are the ones dealing jingle jangle."

I nonchalantly moved closer to listen in. "Serpents don't deal that stuff." Jughead stated, calmer. "The ghoulies do."

"So tell mayor McCoy that."

"Oh, mayor McCoy. Do you mean the McCoy that just arrested all my friends for no reason?" He sat back down as he talked to Archie. "What do you care anyway, man? I thought you and Betty wanted nothing to do with me, right?"

Wow, I couldn't believe Betty and Archie would turn on Jughead. There had to be a reason. Betty seemed so head over heels.

"Look, I'm sorry about what happened and how it happened. And as for Betty, you should maybe talk to her."

Jugheads phone dinged. "I gotta go. Tall boy wants to parley." He got up, walking away from Archie as he gave me a look as if saying he was okay. Archie walked him leaving and shortly left after.

I headed to the jail to visit with FP. To my surprise I was taken to a room with phones, plexiglass between me and him. I couldn't touch him anymore. I sat down in front of him, taking the phone in my hand and holding it to my head.

"FP." I sighed.

"I know, I hate it too."

"Have you seen Jughead?"

He looked behind him at the guard who was watching us. "Yeah."

"What's up with that?" I referred to his black eye and facial bruises.

"He's in." He mumbled, raising his eyebrows.

I nodded, understanding that he meant Jughead was officially in the serpents. "Oh... okay."

We didn't have as long to talk now. The guard told us time was up even though it had only been a few minutes. I glared behind FP as he hushed me, calming me down.

"Don't come visit for a bit, lay low, okay?"

"But, why?" I protested.

"Just don't, please, for me?"
