chilton preparatory school
"so what if she was the smartest person at her last school? doesn't mean that she'll be much of a threat here,"
ivy and i turned the corner of the main hall, almost crashing into paris, louise, and madeline. "hey! did you get her file?" i asked paris.
"yep," madeline answered for her. "and like a million bug bites,"
"and?"
"lorelai gilmore, formerly of stars hollow high school," paris said. "small town girl, 4.0 and perfect attendance. had a boatload of teacher recs, too."
"pretty much everyone here has a 4.0, paris,"
"why so interested?" louise asked. "afraid she'll outshine you in something?"
"nope, just nosey," i replied, sending her a cheeky smile.
"she's a journalism major! that means she's going out for the paper," madeline added.
"not necessarily," ivy disagreed.
"that's what i said!" paris exclaimed. "she's like a month behind, there's no way she'll catch up. do you think she'll catch up?...oh my god, what if she does go for the paper?"
"yeah, that sounds like a you problem, miss future editor," i laughed, walking the opposite way. "c'mon, we gotta get to class."
"wait!" paris stopped me. "have you heard from tristan?"
"he's supposed to be back today."
"oh,"
the five of us made small talk as we walked to literature, my second class of the day, mostly about this new girl lorelai.
"i bet she's a bitch," louise said as we sat down.
"maybe," i agreed. "i guess we won't know 'till we meet her."
"who're we talking about?" liam asked, sitting down.
"new girl," madeline told him. "have you heard anything?"
"i heard she's hot." bryce said.
i rolled my eyes at him. a pretty brunette, who i assumed was lorelai walked into the classroom.
"lorelai gilmore, i presume?" remmey asked her.
"yes sir, i go by rory."
"you heard correctly," i whispered to bryce and he laughed.
